Britains Got Talent: Kay and Harvey Reach Semi Final

Kay has always been a keen singer. She started training her operatic voice quite late on in her life, which is because she started a family life quite early in life and didn’t have the time to follow her dream. She joined the ‘Catholic Players’ singing group in the 90’s and is currently still a member. Paul Potts was also a member of the group and they’ve sung together in the past, he’s on of her inspirations. Through the singing group Kay has sang at many different venues and charity concerts. Kay and Harvey perform for free because they enjoy it so much.

Kay and Harvey met each other 5 years ago whilst Kay was singing in elderly peoples clubs. She needed a pianist to accompany her with her singing and Harvey was pleased to fill that spot. They currently tour round local hospitals, nursing homes and elderly peoples clubs entertaining the residents. The ‘old songs’ always go down better and Kay loves entertaining old people. Harvey is trained in piano and the organ. His father taught him how to read music at the age of five and he was hungry to learn more. His whole life he has accompanied choirs, soloists and one of his real passions is the organ-he’s played at his local church for 25 years and they have just had a mini ‘This Is Your Life’ musical celebration for him.

Kay has been married for 37 years and has 3 children and 10 grandchildren. Her family have mixed views on her singing on BGT. Her children think it’s a bit of a joke but Kay doesn’t care! Harvey has been retired for the past six years and loves every minute of it. He’s divorced and has two children in their 40’s.

Judges Comments:

Two buzzers from Amanda and Simon, two Yes’s from Piers and Amanda

Simon – That was catchy.

Amanda – I don’t know what to say.

Piers – I have rarely enjoyed a performance as much as this.
