Britain’s Got Talent: Kay Oresanya….It’s Saxaphone But Not As You Know It!

When the search for Britain’s Got Talent started this year, Simon put out a call to Great Britain asking for an act that is “totally unique”. Well Simon today could be your lucky day as the next act, Kay Oresanya (31 year old MBA student from Glasgow), has a very unique act. As Kay explains, “my act is very different and it’s going to help me stand above my contemporaries and I believe Simon Cowell is going to be blown away by my gift.” Can Kay’s mystery talent be what Simon has been looking for?

As Kay explains to the Judges, his unique act is him playing the saxophone, with his natural voice, which leaves the Judges looking slightly bemused. As he goes onto explain “my act is what the show is all about, it’s unique, my name will become a household name all over the world through this”.

The track, I’ll Be There kicks in and Kay starts his mouth saxophone, which sounds more like an impression of Sweep being harmed (as in Sooty and Sweep) than a saxophone! But the audience, and Piers love it and 3000 people are on their feet swaying along.

As the Judges deliver their verdict Piers says, “You said at the start this was a unique show for unique talent and they don’t come much more unique than you, you were brilliant, thank you”. But Simon disagrees, “you said you were going to play the saxophone but that was a baby crying over a Michael Jackson song” and he delivers a resounding no, much to the upset of the audience. With Piers loving it and Simon hating it, who will Amanda agree with, and is Kay one step closer to meeting the Queen?
