Britain’s Got Talent: Michael and Gemma Young are Two-a-Like

two-a-like

First up on tomorrow night’s Britain’s Got Talent is a duo who think they have the winning formula to take home the prize is father and daughter act Michael (41) and Gemma Young (11) from Stanley, aka Two-a-Like. The pair will to be singing and dancing together, as they explain to Ant And Dec, “A dancer has won it one year, a singer another so why not put it together? It is different to have one person singing and the other dancing but we think it works.”

As the duo explain their act to the Judges they get a big rousing “ahh” from the audience but unfortunately for the duo as soon as dad Michael starts singing Simon buzzes, and its not long before the audience’s “ahhs” turn into “boos”.

As Michael sings the Barry Manilow classic Could It Be Magic daughter Gemma, dressed in a yellow leotard kicks her legs around and does the splits, “It’s not really gelling together” comments Ant from side of stage, and Simon seems to have got a fit of the giggles. Piers and Amanda eventually buzz and Simon tries to deliver a verdict but is left speechless and obviously unsure of what to say, leaving Amanda to soften the blow for the pair, “it takes an awful lot of courage to stand on that stage and we should applaud you and it’s great that two generations have been brought together”. It looks like that’s a polite way of telling this duo that their “winning formula” hasn’t worked.
