Poor old Pudsey the dog….little does he know it but he’s about to go on a diet, to reverse the effects of all his recent showbiz excesses.

It seems that everyone who has come in contact with the pampered pooch has been keen to feed him a nibble or a treat and as a result, he is suffering from an excess of puppy fat.

Insiders told The Sun that feasting on too many cheese balls and not having time to practice his routines with owner Ashleigh after winning Britain’s Got Talent last weekend, means that Pudsey is pudging out.

However, he will have to shed the extra pounds if he wants to land the film deals being set up by show boss Simon Cowell and a source said:

“Since winning the show Pudsey has been treated like a king and been showered with treats.

“He was at a photoshoot yesterday and each time he did a pose he was rewarded with a cheese ball. It all adds up and it has got to the point that Ashleigh is finding it difficult to carry him because he’s so heavy.”

Life has been pretty interesting since the series ended on Saturday though, as the duo have been inundated with interview requests, magazine photoshoots and last night the pair even met Kanye West as they recorded their appearance on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man.

They will soon be whisked off to America for meetings with Cowell and movie executives and it has been reported that the pair will be flown there on one of the music mogul’s private jets.
