Music mogul Simon Cowell has been nicknamed ‘The Child Catcher’ on the set Britain’s Got Talent due to his unfriendliness towards kids who audition.
X Factor’s Mr Nasty, who has no children of his own, was given the name as his fellow judges, including Amanda Holden, noticed his dislike of the younger auditionees for the new ITV talent show.
Amanda stated:
“He just doesn’t like children, he’s not interested. When they come on you can see he isn’t interested.”
“I would not bring my daughter to work. I had a photo of her on my phone and Simon just said, ‘You’ve got dogs too, haven’t you? Have you got a picture of a dog?’”

Hey, i went to a london audition on the 20th of february and im so confuzed about everything. My friend said that she got a phonecall but she never said anything about any 2nd audition on friday. My homephone was down all weekend and I have no idea if they were trying to contact me but I havent got a letter does anyone no whats going on?
sorry i meant my homephone was down all week**
My friend had audition 24th Feb at London and has got through. Think he got phonecall quite a few days ago and has to go and perform infront of judges and audience today!
He doesn’t know if he has been called back as one of the worst acts cos the producers didn’t seem very impressed at the first audition! - Scary!! Maybe he’s missed how impressed they were and it will all go well. Hope so for him,
DSE
My daughter’s friend had some children that got through to the filming stage. The reports back say that Simon Cowell was a complete ***** reducing kids between 7 and 9 to tears with his nasty comments. He very much had an “I’m a star and can do as I like attitude”.
In these days when anti-bullying is in the headlines how can the TV company permit this “man” to be in a position where he can do untold damage to children? We all know that telling a young child they’re useless and have no talent can affect the rest of a child’s life.
Adults know that they’re likely to get this when auditioning with him but not children.
Ant and Dec on the otherhand were superb.
i want to go on this show in 2008 i would love it call me around 4to 10pm on 07828474139
Whether you like this man or loathe him, he is a successful business man. A business man who does know talent 90% of the time when he sees it, irrespective of whether the age of the auditionee is 6, 16 or 66. The talent that slips away unnoticed has obviously a) entered the wrong type of competition, b) has not reached a stage where they are truly ready for it, c) is having a really bad day due to viral infections or illness and can’t give 100% of themselves, d) is ill prepared due to simply not knowing how to or is ill prepared because there talent is too raw and lacks training.
The problem with children is that to parents and relatives whatever your child does sing, dance, acrobatic turn etc is a talent to you, to those in the know for 95% of children this is not a talent at all it is what children enjoy doing. In after school clubs or school performances etc. It is in fact what children would all enjoy doing if given the opportunity or if they should live in a musically and educationally productive environment. Children are marvellous receptors of learning and can handle everything with no fear of ridicule from family, friends and other relatives. Place those said same children in an adult environment and life gets cruel.
I still have doubts whether those below the age of 14 should be allowed to enter competitions of an adult talent nature, as they haven’t got the maturity to handle negative honest feedback. Children are more easily upset which is the reason why a responsible adult must accompany all below a certain age, they need a cuddle or a shoulder to cry on.
As an adult I could also take the attitude that this can be expected when you enter those to young to know any better or not mature enough to make there own decision based upon experience, knowledge, training and choice. To many parents will be shocked at this but really your children need to be allowed to enjoy there childhood, it only comes once and once gone that is it. On this score I am sure we have all come across pushy parents who feel they are doing the right thing by there children, when in actual fact it may be very wrong.

u r all shit
What confuses me is that you’re posting this 2 months after audition and saying you’re auditioning that day. Correct me if I’m wrong but I seriously don’t get what’s going on.
Is this for 2008 or last year?
we are goin to play the drums and break dance
whi didit I get fro the show for 2008 in blackpool
simon only chooses who he thinks shud win other people only choose the kids because there cute e.t.c simon states the facts and says wat he knows is right.
connie only won because she looked cute ( to some people) and therefore
she didnt Really win.
i just think that simon cowell should stop being so stuck up. he should treat all audirioners with the respect that they deserve and the same respect no matter what there age range is. but i have to admit some of the comments that he comes out with to the auditioners that are obviously bad are really funny. so i do have my good points and bad points towards him.
