i just think that simon cowell should stop being so stuck up. he should treat all audirioners with the respect that they deserve and the same respect no matter what there age range is. but i have to admit some of the comments that he comes out with to the auditioners that are obviously bad are really funny. so i do have my good points and bad points towards him.

What confuses me is that you're posting this 2 months after audition and saying you're auditioning that day. Correct me if I'm wrong but I seriously don't get what's going on.

Is this for 2008 or last year?

Whether you like this man or loathe him, he is a successful business man. A business man who does know talent 90% of the time when he sees it, irrespective of whether the age of the auditionee is 6, 16 or 66. The talent that slips away unnoticed has obviously a) entered the wrong type of competition, b) has not reached a stage where they are truly ready for it, c) is having a really bad day due to viral infections or illness and can't give 100% of themselves, d) is ill prepared due to simply not knowing how to or is ill prepared because there talent is too raw and lacks training.

The problem with children is that to parents and relatives whatever your child does sing, dance, acrobatic turn etc is a talent to you, to those in the know for 95% of children this is not a talent at all it is what children enjoy doing. In after school clubs or school performances etc. It is in fact what children would all enjoy doing if given the opportunity or if they should live in a musically and educationally productive environment. Children are marvellous receptors of learning and can handle everything with no fear of ridicule from family, friends and other relatives. Place those said same children in an adult environment and life gets cruel.

I still have doubts whether those below the age of 14 should be allowed to enter competitions of an adult talent nature, as they haven't got the maturity to handle negative honest feedback. Children are more easily upset which is the reason why a responsible adult must accompany all below a certain age, they need a cuddle or a shoulder to cry on.

As an adult I could also take the attitude that this can be expected when you enter those to young to know any better or not mature enough to make there own decision based upon experience, knowledge, training and choice. To many parents will be shocked at this but really your children need to be allowed to enjoy there childhood, it only comes once and once gone that is it. On this score I am sure we have all come across pushy parents who feel they are doing the right thing by there children, when in actual fact it may be very wrong.
