Britain’s Got Talent: Stephen Mulhern says Ant & Dec are imitating him

Britain’s Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern has reportedly asked Ant & Dec, who host the main Britain’s Got Talent show, to stop copying his act.

Stephen’s show goes out on ITV2 after BGT ends and during the audition stages of the show, Stephen stands at one side of the stage while Ant & Dec stand on the other. They each get to interview hopefuls after their auditions and Stephen noticed a pattern emerging after he wore a hat backstage, then saw Ant & Dec do the same.

A source told The Sun: “Stephen has been getting riled. He puts on a hat, they put on a hat. He dances, they dance.

He even started singing using a carrot as a microphone – and the next thing you know, they’re doing the same.”

Insiders report that he fronted up to Ant and said: “Can I just clear something up, lads? It’s a small issue, you know I don’t really mind, but you’re copying me.”

Ant replied: “Well, considering people are watching us first on ITV1, it will always look like you’re copying us.”

The source added: “There are always in-jokes on TV shows and there will be plenty about this when the live finals roll round.

“But viewers will be able to get in on the joke by watching both the ITV1 and ITV2 shows.”
