Britain’s Got Talent: Susan Boyle Hates The Way She Looks

Britain’s Got Talent rising star Susan Boyle has revealed to The Mirror that she hated how she looked on Saturday night’s show.
Susan, 48 told the newspaper: “They say that television makes you look fat and it certainly did.
“I looked like a garage. It was mortifying to see and a bit of a shock. I didn’t realise I could reduce people to tears and I hope it wasn’t because of that.”
She added: “I’m proud to be part of the show. It really is a dream come true.” She got a standing ovation when she walked into her local Catholic church for yesterday’s Easter service.
She said: “It was incredible. Although we sing in church, not a lot of them knew how good I was, so it was a bit of a shock to them. I’m a bit shy and retiring so they would never have known. It was very emotional.
“Everyone is very nice and it’s lovely when all the kids stop me in the street to congratulate me.”

Ah bless her. Instead of worrying about how she looked she should be so proud of her voice. Its nice to know that the children stop and congratulate her as some can be so cruel.
[...] But never mind she’s destined to become a megastar, after all Paddy Power reckon she’s just 1/3 to get a recording deal from Simon Cowell and just 20/1 to be number one at Christmas this year. She’s even made the news stateside too as well as featuring on our new favourite blog over at UnrealityTV. [...]
What a simply stunning performance. I am still reeling from the power behind the voice. I agree with Amanda that there was a certain level of cynacism when Susan walked on the stage. But behind the appearance was the God given voice of an angel. She simply put everyone on their heels to behold the voice in the person that most thought would bomb. I guess it is human nature to judge people on their appearance, but as Susan clearly proved there is that hidden talent in all of us. I still tear up watching this performance and wish Susan all the best in the world.
[...] why is she such an underdog? Partly it’s because she’s not TV-pretty (Boyle herself was apparently dismayed by how she looked on TV), and TV has taught us for years that only thin, pretty people have any [...]
I have to say this. I find this very heart warming. I wish her the very best of luck whatever happens.
Maybe its time to break the glamour image mould and let the world see how very ordinary people can sing, can dance, can act. Infact ordinary people given half the chance can do an awful lot nobody wants to give credit for.
Lets break the false image moulds. Who needs liposuction, Silicon implants, and botox?
Susan, I have watched the clip several times and cried each time (nothing to do with how you looked but) because of that awesome voice and beautiful song. I wish you every success for the future. You deserve it.
Susan – I cried , your voice was beautiful but even more you were beautiful. ordinary, unassuming totally unaffected. Good Luck you deserve your dream – go girl!!
I never watch the show, but was clicking by and you simply made chills run down my back. Oh, just the best of luck to you. What a breath of fresh air….someone real…..
Susan I am writing to you from the Holly city of Jerusalem, Israel.
You made us all cry when we heared your beutifull great voice. You sound like an angel!!!
Susan. sometimes dreams come true!!!
Shalom and good luck. We love you!!!
I was amazed and got goose bumps all up and down when she sang as a singer since age 7 now 61 there maybe still time for me too LOL Not that I could come close to her power
I saw amodern day version of Cinderalla, whose hopes and dreams will come true, and will also give hope to many who are waiting in the wings for their chance. their is a higher power guiding that voice, God Bless
i cannot get enough of listening to her shes tremendous
I have watched this video over and over. How beautiful you are, Sharon. I can’t wait to buy your CD! Unemployed you say? Well, you are wealthy in spirit, blessed with the most beautiful voice ever and monetarily you will soon be one of the richest persons in the world.
Susan- A garage? Absolutely not. You are beautiful- such a lovely smile, sense of humour and a voice that reduced me to tears. In 6th grade I had to lip sinc the words when my class made a record because my singing voice is so bad. So, you rock! But, I’m a pretty decent gardener in my spare time. Would so love to meet you one day. My Nanny (Grandma) was from Liverpool. You are so very special and I look forward to hearing and listening to much more from and about Sharon Boyle. I’m 58, no spring chicken here.
Don’t you dare change one thing about you….You are a breath of fresh air on a smoggy day!!!
You are the purest form of a human being I have seen in a long time…
And the inspiration you have produced for millions of people is worth more than all the money you will gain.
You Susan Boyle, are a hero.
You have a great gift.
Don’t change your personality, it’s beautiful!
But maybe a nice hair style and shaping your eyebrows will
make you look and feel better – to match your beautiful voice.
You have a lovely lovely smile!
Good luck and make sure those “fame” sharks out there
don’t take advantage of you.
Like everyone else(it seems)…I have watched your performance over and over and cried every time because you were truely amazing!Your Mom and Dad will be looking down on you with so much pride….I don’t know you from a bar of soap, but you made me feel so proud.Enjoy every second of your success Susanxx
