Britain’s Got Talent: The hilariously funny David Walliams to present Royal Variety Performance 2012!
David Walliams has been signed up to front this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge will have been responsible for adding at least one act to the lineup, as BGT winners Ashleigh and Pudsey will also be featured on the night.
It’s claimed that the hilariously funny Little Britain star will take the reigns from comedian Peter Kay, who hosted the event when it was staged in Salford in 2011.
This year proeedings will move back to the Royal Albert Hall in London and The Queen will be watching from her box.
David announced the news on Twitter this morning, telling his followers:
“I can finally announce that I am hosting the Royal Variety Performance this year. It is the biggest gig of my life.”
He added:
“It is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and one hundred years of the Royal Variety so it is a very special show this year.”
If Cheryl Cole became the nation’s sweetheart after her X Factor stint, then it seems that David is the male version, as the work is flooding in quick and fast for the star.
He’s planning an appearance on This Morning today to plug his new autobiography Camp David and also his children’s novel Ratburger, as well as to talk about his Royal Variety news.
The RVS is shaping up to be yet another star studded evening with singers including Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Celine Dion and Placido Domingo on the bill.
The show will be filmed on Monday, November 19 and air on ITV1 a few weeks later.
