During the recent Birmingham auditions for the newest ITV show ‘Britains Got Talent’, Simon Cowell was mightily impressed by a Coventry Breakdance Group.
Afetr they performed their routine for Mr Cowell, He astounded the boys by telling them they were the freshest act he had seen in the UK.
Ryan, aged 20, of Stoke, Coventry, told icCoventry: “Simon said we were the freshest act he had seen in the UK and that we will be inspiring to young people across the whole country.
“We got a standing ovation and he said we were terrific.
“It was really overwhelming to hear it from Simon Cowell.
“It couldn’t have gone any better and now we’re through to the next round.”

Manchester and Cardiff are from next week. If you applied for London after 9th Jan 2007 you would have missed the cut off.
The cut off for Manchester and Cardiff is TOMORROW! If you want to apply for a slot you should print off and take your application form BY HAND tomorrow to FremantleTalkback Thames at 1 Stephen Street London W1.
Otherwise you will not get a spot.

Stelliewell wear whatever your daughter feels comfortable in. Take flat shoes as you will be standing a lot in a queue! And water and a sandwich too!

my daughter had her audition 20th feb we had a great day out she was really nervous when we got there but you wait ages to go in so she calmed right down as shes under 16 shes 14,i had to go in with her,i was so proud she sung really well and nerves where no where to be seen,she will get a call and a letter in 4 to 6 weeks to lets us know if shes got a 2nd audition that 1 with simon and 2 other judges fingers crossed but shes not getting her hopes up 1000’s of people doing it.

On One of my first auditions, I took a sleeping bag, my gown in a suit bag with my sheet music pinned to it, everything else in a handbag. I arrived over night and it was freezing.
You shouldn’t anything like this today, so don’t worry.

Hello Maureen,Just a quick note my son Jack auditioned yesterday 28th of Feb at Manchester and it could not of gone better on his part he done everything he practised perfectly for the audition. He sung aint that a kick in the head by Dean Martin and done his mammy very very proud cosidering he has had no training at all i think hes amazing.
He did get on camera as one of the workers i belive from the production team came and got him to stand at the front and he also sung in the middle of the floor.
In the audition room the production team were great friendly and made him relaxed although i must say i think i was the one with the nerves and not jack i could not look at there faced during his audition for willing him to too well, After the audition i have explained to him that on waiting to here for the 2nd auditions if he by chance does not get contacted all he has to think about is that he done his best and thats all that matters over all it was a good day thanks for you help by the way we are Newcastle as well god bless Mrs Harrop

Hey, i had an audition with my band on March 1st last week in Manchester.
The auditions are infront of one of the producers which isnt that bad and they film it.
you will find out if you got through or not in 4-6 weeks i think they said.
Then you perform infront of Simon and 2000 audience members at another manchester thetre which are the auditionees if you all understand me.
It’s really not that bad!!
Oh and im at the front haha of the queue when they film people walking up to the bulding screaming haha which is all fake they told us to pretend it was summer :p lol wooo were called shortstuf

i sang michael jackson ‘ u r not alone’ and its really not as nerve racking as u think!!! the celeb judges a’rnt there, only the producers. u c the celeb judges in the next round. i just sang infront of a women and another girl with a video camera! i was a bit nervous but my voice didnt tremble! the feedback was gr8 from her. she said that i had a very distinctive and unique voice! so any1 who’s got an audition coming up dont worry, just b urself and have fun!! ps: it doesnt matter where u r in the line when u line up cause b4 auditions start, every1 has 2 b registered! my slot was meant 2 b 12.00, but we went in at 10 to 3!
oh and if u get through 2 the next round then u recieve a letter and a fone call. and even if u dont get through u still get a letter!

We were doing an informal gig with our band at the Millenium centre on the Tesco stage yesterday and the producers of Britains got Talent came in and asked us to audition!! We ended up doing a 10 minute slot on camera with an interview as well - no idea really what we were auditioning for or when the next round is!!Can anyone help?

Heyy im from the project voluntry youth group!! Were a group of 9-16 year olds who both dance and breakdance, we had our audition today and were asked for a few interviews and to show some of our routine, a few of our breakdancers showed a few of their moves as sort of a workshop for the public. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone who’s taking part, hope things go well ..The Project x ps..if your looking out then were the kids in black and white with the creepy painted faces haha .

My daughter and I auditioned in London 20/02 duet ‘Generation Gap’ read lots of forum comments and it seems that the regionals seem to follow different formats. some expecting a phine call others letters. I thought those successful would get a call the others a letter. So confused.
Recall now complete at Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester recalls taking place through March (tickets available via Applause store. Still have not heard whats happening for London regionals no venue or date seem to have been published. Appreciate any info any of you may have.

Hi to everyone who has taken part in Britains Got Talent. Has the days are getting closer to reciving a call back i can imagine many of you like myself are worried and anxious willing the phone call to confirm the next round.
Its my son whom had taken part in the audition and like many of you i belive he done realy well i can especially say from my point of view in anyways.
It Has been a nerve racking time especially for those who auditioned like my son on the 28th of febuary at Manchester after auditioning like many of yous he was told that he would here within 4 to 6 weeks after his audition, only to find that the recalls are happening in Manchester Opera House on the 23rd 24th and 25th of March i belive may be a few days out here.
So as alot of people have said the calls to confirm the next round may not be to far off maybe a matter of days.
Wow doesnt ease the nerves because then we thinking well initially i was told 4 to 6 weeks but then the Opera House is booked for the dates realesed. Does this mean that some people may have been told something else?
Honestly i dont belive so, i belive that on the day thay do have an idea has to whom is going to through to the next round but dont say anything.
Anyways this is from my heart to you all GOOD LUCK in reciving a call and always remember if that call does not arrive and you have been unsucessful keep going towards your dreams and never give up as 1 door closes another 1 opens

WELL IVE BEEN TOLD THAT WE HAVE 2 SING INFRONT OF 2,000 AUDITIONEES THAT HAVE GOT THROUGH 2 THE NEXT ROUND. THE CELEB PANEL(simon cowell,amanda holden and piers morgan)
will be there and THEY HAVE A RED BUTTON BESIDE THEM. IF THEY DONT LIKE UR ACT THEY THEY BUZZ U WITH THEIR BUTTON. IF 2 OR MORE OF THE JUDGES BUZZES U THEN U DONT GO THROUGH 2 THE NEXT ROUND. Cardiff call back for the recall shows have been done on Saturday and Sunday 10/11th March. If you have not had a call back by 14th March, you are not one of the lucky ones.
I spoke to the production co today. The recall phone calls for Cardiff will be completed by this Wednesday 14th March and the Manchester calls for the next round by the 21st March.
Londoner’s we have to wait - the venue is still tbc and the calls HAVE NOT BEEN MADE!
And everyone will get a thank you letter - whether you are through or not!

Hey guys i went to birmingham on the 27th!!!!!!!I didn’t makie it you will know when the call backs are if ur worried as it says on ur audition letter (which was infront of the producers). I didn’t get through and found out by calling freemantle media at 1 Stephan Street, I also got a letter. They don’t care how good u r btw, it;s all about those questions, like what do you think of the queen and who do you aspire to be like, they asked those for a reason they don’t want someone shy!

We are 4 girls who danced street/hip hop at Cardiff on the tuesday. We havn’t got a recall but are really dissapointed because the two judges seemed to really like us and one even called us over after we had finished our routine and gave us advice for the next round! We really wish that hadn’t happened because it just gave us false hope,

I posted this on the other Amanda Holden blog but thought I’d ask you guys too.
I see (from Applause Store) that the 6th April has been announced as the date for London call backs (no venue given yet) but so far this is the only date and only one time is given(11.15am). Does anyone know if there will be other dates and times for London? If not, can that mean that less people will be called back from the London auditions? There’s three dates for the Manchester callbacks, with two shows per day, presumably with 10/15 acts per show if it’s the same as Birmingham so I can’t help wondering how many people will the call back from London if there’s only one slot! Any one got any views, or additional info.

Me and y 2 friends are relly nervous.
I got through to the 3rd round this afternoon was quite a long day……
advice to anyone doing recalls: try not to look directly at Simon and co it can make you more nervous, and in any case, try to perform for the audience….

Just a quick note to say that i don’t think that many people get to even the 1st proper round of the competion because of so many entering!(50,000)It is probably harder than winning the lottery!Let’s just hope that we can all gain a positive experience from it all!

I came to watch the Cardif rounds on friday…and only about 3-4 acts got through !!!!one of those was a pig playing the piano!

A lot of the reason behind some people getting picked for the first stage is down to what you put down about your act and about yourself in the application.
I sang Nessun Dorma: I did look at the judges at the start, and felt all wobbly, but I did notice the look a shock on Simon Cowell’s face when I started singing…

Don’t know when the next round is…will most likley be after the London recalls…there were all sorts there today…we weren’t allowed to see other acts perform on the show…

Yes…some really sweet little dancers got through who were dressed as bees!…they were so cute.I can’t remember what the name of there group was but they were very good and did a fab routine that they had obviously rehearsed very well!the audience liked them alot.Oh…apparently they don’t just dress as bees…they have alot of different costumes made for them.I’m sure that they will be an ‘ah!’ factor on the tv!
Our band - the A470’s have been put through to the next round!! We performed on Sat in Cardiff to Simon, Amanda and Piers and 200 people. The audience were great, clapping along and they booed Simon when he said he didn’t like our choice of number! Piers loved us and Amanda said she wanted to hear us do more big band stuff in the next round!The audience are encouraged to boo or cheer so we were relieved when they clapped and cheered us! Some people were very upset at being booed. It was a very long day but we are flatered to be in the final 100, which is apparantly how many will go through to the next round. then we have to attend a day where they cut that to 50. No idea when that will be as other cities auditons are still to take place.

We were at Manchester in Feb - got interviewed after audition…. had a fab day!! Had a call from production team two days later after words - that was almost three weeks ago - still havnt heard a thing - its killin me !!! Good luck evryone!!!
Well done A band. Glad you are through. How many were in this round that you have qualified for? Two of our dance group got through to Sat but did not get into the third round. Did you see them. They were a little boy and girl. If you did could you tell me what happened as I can’t get hold of them and I hope they are not upset.

I was backstage with my little girl who was waiting to go on about 2 acts after you. You were absolutely amazing and my partner told me you had a standing ovation. You were unbelievable. My little girl got through too. Very nerve racking. The audience loved her and like you she wasnt buzzed out by any of the judges. Apparently not many people went through on the Friday. but there were 5 in our group that were put through. Anyway good luck to A470 and Pavvi who got through and will see you at the next round. Thanks for that hi, I was very flattered by Piers telling me that I would be one of the favourites, and the film crews were full of that part of it trying to get me to say that I was gonna win it. I have always been down to earth and intend to stay that way. For that reason I want to take each stage as it comes. Of course I want to go all the way and win, but I need to make sure that I get through each stage without piling too much pressure on myself. I should have invited Simon Cowell and his credit card out for suit shopping!!!!

Well originally I was gonna do it acappella, but I just made a subtle hint about the fact that I would rather do it with backing, and they asked if I had the backing track with me (which I had) and they said which track is it on the CD….
I’m deciding which aria to do the next round….difficult really as I don’t want to use up all the show stoppers……perhaps one of the arias from Tosca - quite a sad, but moving aria or something more jolly like O sole Mio, or La Donna e mobile, which is used in the Dr Oetker pizza ads

Yes they were a littl boy and girl. They go to the same dancing school as mine. I have now heard the boy was very upset. He usually is quite tough so this surprised me.

Hi all my nine year old daughter auditioned in Manchester. She sand white flag by Dido i thnk she done really well but im gonner say that. Just waiting hope to her my daughter has forgotten all about it and believes she’s not through so hopefully the call will come and superise us all. My daughter was wearing a black and white checked suit which i believe made her stand out. They called during the day and that is the most likely time that they will call. As far as the song is concerned, you get to sing for as long as they haven’t all buzzed you. However, I would prepare an amount you are comfortable with and concentrate on preparing that bit really well rather than doing more and taking a chance on being buzzed.

Just to say that i got a call back about 8.30 pm for Manchester.I think the call backs for Manchester go on until the 21st though.I did find out that only 80 people get through out of 5000 just in Manchester.

My daughter had first audition 5th March in Cardiff. We then had a phone call about 4pm Sunday 11th for the recall which was Saturday 17th March, so it all happened quite quick. There were acts from all over the country at Cardiff though. I spoke to people from Manchester, Liverpool and Kent. My daughter has got through to the next heat but we dont know what it will entail. regards J x

Glad people are getting callbacks now. It’s awful waiting. I had a few days tied to my phone. Hopefully it will be over soon for you. As my sons dance mates got through and he did not it was difficult for him and I was gutted telling him he wasn’t through. However he took it brilliantly. Anyway it put it in perspective coming second to a piano playing pig. It’s not all about talent, just if you make good TV and in the right place at the right time. ENJOY the experience. We are having a great time now following who is though and if we know anyone. Can’t wait to see the programme. What an experience. Wish I had had that chance at their age.
The timings are all down to theatre bookings. I’m personally glad that they have done it in the way they have in front of live audiences much better atmnosphere
It seems that they are going for a diverse range of talent. The act ultimately has to appear on the “Royal Variety Performance”, so it is about variety. We had a wide range of call backs at our recall. I dont think that many went through on the Friday show but Pavvi you are right about the audience. They need to know that the winner will not freeze on the night. This competition is about ALL talent, no just singers. OK yes my daughter went through who is 12 and Pavvi went through but I have to say that Pavvi was amazing. He had a standing ovation. That type of talent gets missed and obviously is not what they look for in the X factor, but the type of act that would go down brilliantly at the Royal Variety. From what I saw, the acts that went through on the day that I was there in Cardiff, deserved to go through. They were all talented in different ways. Anyway, good luck to the recalls in London and Manchester. J x

I am sure they won’t my Son is a Classically trained Soprano but has a good belt voice too. Not much chance as he is only 13, and a lot of young singers have already gone through. Well done to your daughter. My Son will try for X Factor when he is old enough. He likes the auditions and has no problem with audiences as he has sang at the Opera House in Manchester and a few other places. Think we would have heard yesterday if he had made it as our audition was on the the 28th. He was also on “Let me entertain you” last year on BBC2 so they may not pick him because he has been on TV before.
listen guys if you get through dont worry cos you will know even if you miss the phnoe call, cos they will send you a letter wether you are through or not..

Hi, Still waiting to hear from London auditions, but can’t help being a little doubtful because so far I’ve not heard of any singers over the age of 14 going through. Possibly becaue of the new X factor age limit.
But just in case, can any singers who did get through to second round tell me if you are expected to perform acapella infront of the audience or do they provide/allow music.
In the ‘America’s Got Talent’ first round in front of an audience (shown on youtube)there was a small orchestra at the rear of the stage.
Also, are you asked to perform the same song that you did at the 1st round of auditions?

Well done Leah. So pleased for you. Just enjoy and be really confident in front of the judges. My daugther is 12 and sung acapella. There was no orchestra. I think that there can be issues with using backing tracks. Its to do with copyright I think, but saying that Pavvi used a backing track. You will need to call one of the researchers to ask if ok to use a track. You have to sing exactly the same as you did in the first audition and wear the same as this is supposed to be the first audition. You cannot change anything. Even the people with you have to dress the same. Hope that helps. Jx

So sorry about your nan. She will be really proud of you getting through. Well done. You have to definately wear the same clothes for continuity reasons. The ast auditions are going to be mixed with these auditions and made to look the same day so you have to wear exactly the same things, plus your hair etc the same. Good luck anyway.
