The Showbears may have loved being joined on stage by David Walliams when they tried out for Britain’s Got Talent recently but now they’re ready to move on.
The camp singing and dancing comedy troupe sparked hilarious scenes on Saturday night’s episode of the ITV show, when they inspired the Little Britain star to join in with their act and dance with them during their second performance of ‘It’s Sailor Men.’
They adored performing with the camp judge but next time, they hope to recruit the only slightly less camp panel member – Simon Cowell.
Frontman David Dale and his bandmates Simon Caterall, Will Read, Zachary Cole and Shaun Godwin-Rotherham admitted at their tryout that they actually quite fancied the X Factor boss and joked:
‘I wouldn’t kick him out of bed!’
In a more recent interview with The Sun, David added:
“It would be a dream come true if we could get Simon to join in. He is one of my heroes.
“I would dress them up in as little as possible, in fig leaves or something.”
But that’s not to say that he didn’t love coaching and teaching dance moves to Walliams. Dale gushed about the actor, comedian and author and praise the star saying:
“David Walliams was completely outrageous! He is the gayest straight man I have ever met in my life and I love him for that.
“I think it is people like David who have made the whole gay thing in this day and age very acceptable.”
Meanwhile, Britain’s Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern doesn’t think The Showbears would have won four yeses from the panel, if Walliams hadn’t been on the panel.
He thinks if they had auditioned in a previous series, Simon Cowell would have sent them packing but claims that David has broguth ‘the fun’ back to BGT in 2012.
