David Walliams finishes fifth book, prepares for Edinburgh book festival & beats Usain Bolt as perfect sports partner!!

Great news for fans of David Walliams’ books!! The kids favourite announced on his Twitter feed today that he has finally finished his fifth work of fiction.

The Britain’s Got Talent star – who has topped best sellers lists with books like ‘Gangsta Granny’ and ‘Mr Stink’ – messaged his fans saying:

“I have just finished my latest children’s book, ‘Ratburger’. It is a comedy but has an extremely evil villain…”

Also great news for reality TV fans, because it seems that the villain in the story is based on a certain head judge. Walliams has previously teased that he took inspiration from all the time he spent with BGT boss Simon Cowell this year.

Meanwhile, the ever busy star is also set to speak at Edinburgh book festival in coming months, which sounds like a good holiday outing for parents and kids alike. David will introduce “Ratburger”, and read from Gangsta Granny which will be out in paperback in time for the holidays and recently won at the Rotherham book awards.

Proving that he really is a workaholic, last week David was the guest speaker at the annual Sytner managers conference with former BGT judge Michael McIntyre and this week he recorded an episode of QI and Ronna and Beverly.

Meanwhile according to the research conducted by Egmont UK for the launch of their Mr. Men sports day books, in mums’ ultimate sports day, comedians, royalty and pop stars would triumph over medal winning athletes. When asked to choose their perfect three-legged race partner, mums opted for long-distance swimmer and comedian, David Walliams, over the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, who only received seven percent of the votes, suggesting that sporting prowess is no match for humour and charity heroics.

David has also received a nomination for the Celebrity Personality of the Year at the Reality TV Awards, you can vote for him here .

Despite his crazy and busy schedule, David hasn’t been neglecting his fans. When he, wife Lara Stone and cute puppy Bert went on a well deserved weekend break to Brighton last week, the Little Britain star had a smile and a kind word for many of his supporters and posed for pictures with a number of excited onlookers. Have a look at some the cute pictures the men and women at the Brighton Wheel shared on Twitter!

No wonder Walliams is one of the nation’s favourite stars of the moment!
