While much in way of the Elton John Aids Foundation was going on in Kiev this weekend, G.A.Y. also hosted an event back here in the UK. Club owner Jeremy Joseph is campaigning for the charity by hosting concerts and having ran the Virgin London Marathon.

On Saturday night Britain’s Got Talent stars, The Showbears performed in the venue with their surprise guest … (drumroll) … David Walliams!! It was hilarious and fun for both the audience, the performers and the participants.

Jeremy tweeted beforehand: “At rehearsals with the Showbears with the surprise special guests. Absolutely pissing myself, sorry but a certain person is so funny, can’t wait for tonight. Just decided that David Walliams is camper than me & that’s official. Ok this is surreal, backstage at G-A-Y with David Walliams & C3P0.”

When the time came to perform, The Showbears were on form and loved every minute of it!! David Walliams did too, but seemed even more interested in another amazing encounter.

He tweeted excitedly “I just met C3PO!” (Anthony Daniels C3PO in ‘Star Wars’)

He then shared some brilliant pictures and said:

“So I re-united with the Showbears for one night only at G.A.Y. in London. Just like on the TV I knew only some of the words and dance moves. We’re back back back…! And bizarrely with Anthony Daniels who plays C3PO in ‘Star Wars’! Legend.”

David’s wife Lara Stone was also on hand to express her love for the cuddly bears and snap some great pictures.

And what did the Showbears think? Well, they loved it of course and wrote:

“What an amazing night at G-A-Y with @davidwalliams & @MrsLS (Lara Stone) – the evening was fantastic!!! And an honour to spend time with David & Lara. He was amazing!! Meeting Anthony Daniels was surreal!! C3P0 was such a nice guy! He really enjoyed the gig! Thanks to @JeremyJoseph for his hospitality! x”

David later revealed:

“Jeremy Joseph who runs G.A.Y. donated £5000 to the Elton John Aids Foundation for my appearance with the Showbears last night. Thankyou JJ!”

He then asked the Bears: “If I grow a beard can I join full-time…?!”

They replied: “You can join any time – beard or not! :0) But we may start to fatten you up after a while!”

We hope so, we can’t get enough of these together and neither can Pudsey, who Tweeted: “All my favourite fellas together again!”
