Drumming Kieran Gaffney returns to Britain’s Got Talent as ‘Mixed Emotions’

13 year old drummer boy Kieran Gaffney makes his return to Britain’s Got Talent this Saturday night.

The teenager auditioned for last year’s series of the show and though he made it past the audition stage, the judges decided not to put him through to the live semi-finals.

This year Kieran decided not to brave the stage alone and brought his guitar playing dad and singing mum along for support. The family formed ‘Mixed Emotions’ and Amanda Holden was delighted to see Kieron back. She gushed:

“I have never got so many texts from people telling me off for not putting you through. You were unbelievable.”

The three piece group embarked on their rendition of the Motown hit, Do You Love Me, with Kieron’s mum dressed in what looked like Ann Summers’ best basque and stockings. The performance was terrible and led Simon Cowell to blast:

‘I’ve got to be honest, the act like this is utterly atrocious!’

Piers Morgan added:

‘I was really, really disappointed! You’re the talent not your mum, no disrespect to her.’

Luckily Simon took pity on Kieran and allowed him to return for a solo audition. With no backing track available or routine prepared it was a tough call for the boy, but he managed to the judges anyway.

After his second performance Amanda Holden said:

‘I am so proud of you! You played for your life there!’

Piers said:

‘Last year we thought that we’d made a mistake in not putting you through, you just proved that we did!’

And Simon Cowell added:

“I thought you were good last year, I thought you were fantastic this year. Well done!”
