George Sampson Alienates His Few Remaining Fans
George Sampson is hardly a global superstar, yet he seems to love to lord it above the people that gave him the small amount of celebrity he has achieved.
First George forgot which side his bread was buttered and spoke out against ‘neglectful’ Simon Cowell, then his mum got in trouble for dumping bags of his unread fan mail and now he is dissing his home town Warrington, calling it ‘boring.’
George told The Sun:
“I’m getting complaints at the moment about not getting back to my roots. I’ve not been back to Warrington in months.
“Why would I want to go there? It’s boring, there’s nothing to do. It’s like a ghost town.
“All people do there is hang around outside shops.”
I wouldn’t knock it George, this time next year you’ll be hanging round the shops too, or maybe you’ll get lucky and land a job in Mc D’s!

ok first I really like him
he´s a very good dancer, he seems like a nice person and down to earth guy so I don’t understand why he said that. I think he should be more careful about what he says and how he says those things. I hope these is just adolescence and no more..hahaha
well, indira91, maybe he never said those things about Simon Cowell or his hometown to begin with? ‘UnrealityTV’ should stop and think before taking what The Sun and other news rags say as fact and using it to contort their own opinions…
Or maybe Unreality TV has interviewed him in person and formed their own opinions

@indira91, no need to apologize. My comment wasn’t really directed toward you if thats what you thought. Just be careful what you believe because even quotes cant be trusted sometimes. I mean, I read that George visited home just last week and enjoyed his time there, so…
@Lisa McGarry, how often has UnrealityTV ever written anything on Sampson based on a personal interview? This article is from The Sun, as stated. The thing about him supposedly knocking Simon Cowell was from another source, possibly The Sun as well. And the fanmail story is so full of one-sided half-truths from several sources, i dont know where to begin. I know how things work – “news” is passed from site to site, you all use little articles like this as a reason to complain or for a cheap joke, and gossip rags, blogs, et al like to portray Sampson as an ungrateful, whiney little nobody, even resorting to made-up quotes to fit that mold. Thats fine, whatever floats your boat, it gives you all something to do. However, more reliable sources (like videos, fan stories and full-length articles) have shown the kid as down to earth, and appreciative of everything he’s done so far and everyone who’s helped him along the way, including Cowell and his hometown. But those truths aren’t as interesting to write or make lame jokes about, right?
I agree. Like you said, all these come from sources that aren’t reliable, and yes, they know that true isn’t going to be that interesting but these things catch your attention- which I think is normal- of course if you start believing they’re true and taking it too serious, well that’s a problem.

but maybe is true and there’s not many things to do there, but It doesn’t mean he doesn’t like it or he doesn’t care about it. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding.

@Fliss, from my understanding, he tries to visit home once or twice a month if he can since he moved to London last year, so the whole “wouldn’t go back to Warrington” stuff is rubbish. As for the “boo boys” thing, it was from a longer TimesOnline article. They probably boo him out of jealousy, or maybe they’re idiotic enough to believe what the tabloids and blogs try to portray him as being (as I mentioned in my earlier commment) – either way, its ridiculous.
cooper who seem to know a hell of a lot about him almost as if you are a protectful mother.
UTV gets stuff from the media, which many people read, and they have also interviewed him and no doubt put up a copy of the interview like they have done with every other BGT and X Factor finalist.
I have never liked George and never will as think he is very cocky, and this new just confirms this. Cooper people are allowed to have opinions so don’t attack them as it is a free country.

I see where Cooper is coming from, and I think that the press twisted George’s words because that is hardly uncommon.
@Marcus, nope i’m definitely not his mother, i just dislike it when misinformation is spread, especially when its about someone who doesn’t deserve it. And yes, UTV gets stuff from other media sources, but some of them are often unreliable like The Sun. And “many readers” doesnt necessarily equal reliability. You say you formed your opinions of George based off “news” like this? Did you ever once ask yourself if the “news” you read about him or anyone else is factual, if the quotes that have been published are word-for-word in the correct context in which they were spoke, or if those quotes were even spoken at all? Like Fliss said, tabloids twisting words to fit the story they want to tell is not uncommon, and in some cases is the norm. If you ignore all the tabloid fodder, there’s really nothing about Sampson that screams “cocky.” I agree that everyone should be allowed their own opinions, thats why i’m sharing mine, and no one should feel attacked here, including you. I mean, is there some rule against challenging the negative opinions that have been formed from how the tabloids have tried to portray him? There’s nothing wrong with having a critical opinion of someone – just be certain its based off truth.

hey. im from birchwood i go birchwood high aswell. i used to speak to him before britans got talent. but since then he has got to big for his boots and thinks everyone should worship him.
yeah he is right there is nothing to do round here anymore but the real reason he dont come here anymore is cos 1 he got happy slapped here i dont know who by but he did. and 2 cos no one around here likes him anymore. he just ditched us all. and when he comes here hardly anyone speaks to him except the lads who just want all his girl fans. and he shouldnt be disrespecting where he comes from. and her said he got bullied for dancing? yeah well not at school he never we all used encouage him to dance, expecialy at school disco’s we all loved it. to go around sayin he got bullied if silly. maybe he did by some people but no one from our school he was like one of “the popular gang” and he also said he was the only boy dancer at our school? i think not there were a few dancers there pretty good ones at that.

We all know that the press exaggertate ( Sorry, No good at spelling
)things to sell more stories – It’s how they make money. No one is going to buy a newspaper or read a blog which praises the person they are writing about all the time because it would be boring. Yes, This article makes Sampson seem a little ungrattful but what he’s said was propley all just twisted around. In a way he is right, Harrods is a shopping centre and he’s propley not that intrested in clothes or anything but when he said ” What am I supposed to buy there? ” he propley ment it in a jokey way.
As for the story saying this time next year he’ll be ” hanging round the shops ” Im sure he wont. Everywhere he goes girls are mobbing him and if you type his name into youtube it will come up with millions of ‘ I love George Sampon!! ‘ fan videos and he’s even on some videos dubbed Britains fittest boy. Also, If you find a video off him with fans he’s never refused a picture or hug or anything. Ive seen a video where a fan asks him for a hug and he just goes up and hugs her. And in some vidoes he’s with his friends in the park having a laugh like an average teenager messing about on the slides and things! He is such a talented dancer and has a good future for himself and with his £100,000 prize money and money for his hit dvd and singles Im sure he will defeintly not have money troubles.
