ITV secures Piers Morgan in an exclusive two-year deal

ITV today announced that Piers Morgan will join the channel in an exclusive two year deal.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, presenter and former editor of the Daily Mirror has emerged as one of the UK’s most popular personalities with an already impressive list of experience presenting shows across the major UK broadcasters.

With a number of projects already lined up, ITV can today confirm that Piers will return to judge a third season of the hugely popular Britain’s Got Talent.

Following the success of his three-part series Sandbanks he will be back later in 2009 with a new documentary series as well as hosting a brand new entertainment talk show produced by ITV Productions. In addition he will present a number of topical special projects throughout 2009/10.

Peter Fincham, ITV’s Director of Television said: “Piers Morgan is one of the most sought-after and popular entertainment personalities on British television and I’m delighted that we have been able to secure an exclusive partnership with him on ITV.”

Commenting on the new deal, Piers Morgan said: “I am delighted to be joining ITV at such an exciting time of change and evolution for the network, and look forward to making some innovative new entertainment programmes over the next few years.”

    I can see why this man has bee signed to ITV he has wit and charm and without question or doubt a stage charisma and persona that is lovely without being arrogant. This is despite his obvious private school background and well spoken up bringing, good luck to him I say.

    I’m thrilled for the news! I’d like to see Piers Morgan get some hundreds of millions worth deal some day, but for now, just open a champagne for getting to see more of him on TV!
