Britain’s favourite grandma Janey Cutler was one of the last acts to return to the Britain’s Got Talent stage for tonight’s final show.

The frail 81 year old won the public vote on Thursday night’s semi final, after impressing the judges with her rendition of Shirley Bassey’s ‘This Is My Life.’ After she sang Simon Cowell said:

“I think you epitomise everything that’s good about a show like this. Because its not just about talent, it’s about spirit and it’s about character and that’s what you have. You gave it 100%, you loved every moment of it and I’m going to remember this performance for a very long time.”

Saying that she just wanted to provide for her family and promising to sing her heart out, Janey sang her original audition piece Edith Piaf’s ‘Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.’ Unfortunately Janey a bit too late and ended up completely out of time with her backing track. It was a horrible and gut wrenching moment to watch and we just wanted to cry for the gutsy pensioner. She got it together for her last chorus though and really did sing her heart out at that point….but it may have been too late for her.

Judges Comments:

Piers Morgan: Janey I could tell that you were slightly behind the music at the start but that’s part of being a star. You just suddenly went I’m not going to be beaten by this and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got and that last 20 seconds told me why you should be in the final. You are a remarkable lady and that was a great performance and a great recovery.

Amanda Holden: Let me tell you how beautiful you look this evening, you look absolutely stunning. Earlier on you wanted my autograph in the corridor, I think after tonight I’ll be asking for yours. The last part of that song was terrific, well done!

Simon Cowell: I really felt for you because when you miss it and you’ve got to catch up on live TV, for any performer with a lot of experience that’s a hard hard thing to do. I don’t know how you managed it. I think we have to forget the first half and listen to the second half. I have to tell you Janey you are one gutsy lady!
