Lily Allen Says Susan Boyle Is Overrated
Lily Allen has been tweeting again and this time the edgy singer has turned her caustic tongue on Britain’s Got Talent’s Susan Boyle.
Lily was watching BGT on Sunday night when she commented on Twitter:
“Susan Boyle is so overrated. Je suis overrated aussi.”
When challenged by her Twitter followers, she replied: “I’m allowed to have an opinion. I thought her timing was off, no control, and I don’t think she has an amazing voice.
“Yes, she can sing, but it’s not about talent with her, is it? She seems like a lovely lady but if its about talent, that Shaheen kid should win.”
She added: “I have never in my life claimed to be talented. I do work hard at writing songs and putting on entertaining concerts though.”

For once I agree with Lily Allen’s comments.
I definetely agree with Lily Allen, Susan Boyle is very overrated.
She’s got enough fame and regardless to the result on Saturday, she’ll still be signed by a record company.
I think it would be brilliant if Shaheen won. He’s amazingly talented and I think he deserves to win. Yeah, Susan can sing but it’s boring listening to that kind of singing to most people. I think Shaheen has an amazing voice and I enjoy listening to him, it’s not boring.
He delivered a breath-taking performance last night and I hope to god he wins!
Lily Allen speaks her mind, she’s allowed her opinion. Atleast she’s not too much of a coward to actually say what she thinks!

Lily Allen clearly writes that Susan Boyle can sing. When she does mention, that it’s not an amazing voice, it’s not in any way implying or saying in a straight forward manner, that Susan Boyle is undeserving of the attention. She also points out that Susan Boyle seems like a lovely lady. It’s obvious to me, that Lily Allen has to be very careful of how she chooses her words. Because it will be printed. And that negative will always be implied when people write about her. If Susan Boyle appears over rated, as Lily Allen put it, then that would be an opinion, shared by many people. It became public opinion that Susan Boyle, wasn’t (..ah, really suited for television viewing) By some peoples standards, and that’s what Lily Allen is writing about when she uses the word over rated. Because Susan Boyle became, the peoples champion, a talented singer, with a not so talented face. So naturally, people cheered out of the kindness of their hearts for her talent. At some point people have to realize, that a sympathy vote, for someone that can sing is just as hypocritical as someone that judges a talent contest, based mainly on a persons good looks. It’s like someone that thinks they have to let people into a country club because they’re of a different race or belief, as if to say normally we don’t… but this time we will, because we have to get people off our backs. It the wrong way of thinking for the judges and for television. That’s Lily Allen”s point!
