Mezhgan Hussainy may be engaged to one of the richest men on the planet, but she has reportedly insisted that she won’t be giving up her own job when they get married.

Afghan born Mezhgan currently earns around £40,000 as a makeup artist on Cowell’s show American Idol, which is where they first met. In a recent interview she admitted that her job is incredibly important to her as a woman and insisted that she’ll be staying on at Idol for the forseeable future:

“The irony for me is that in my country, once the Taliban took over, women couldn’t even show their face or put on make-up.

“Make-up is part of being a woman and it does give you self-assurance and confidence. In a way, you’re ready to conquer the world.

“Make-up has such a huge effect on people.”

A friend told The News Of The World: “Mezhgan adores her job and has no plans to give it up.

“Simon wouldn’t want her to anyway. He likes the fact that she has a career independent from him.

“And he knows first-hand just how good a make-up artist she is.”
