Michael Parkinson Speaks Out Over Susan Boyle

Michael Parkinson has spoken out about the fate of Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle. The former chat show host says that is it hardly surprising that Susan has ended up in The Priory and wonders if she is happier now than she was when she first entered the show.

He wrote on his personal blog: ‘Susan Boyle’s reaction to not winning Britain’s Got Talent was predictable.

‘To go from a quiet life as a church volunteer in a small town in Scotland to international fame would be tough for anyone to cope with.

‘But to expect someone with her obvious personal problems to take it all in is ridiculous.

‘For all the promises of fame and fortune, one wonders if Susan Boyle is happier now than she was eight weeks ago.’

Parkinson also spoke out on the issue last Thursday when he joined forces with Lily Allen and agreed with her assessment that Subo was overrated. He wrote:

Sir Michael said: ‘Miss Allen and I are in total agreement. In my opinion Britain’s Got Talent should actually be called Britain’s Got Talent?’

Well Michael Parkinson, can you sing as well as Susan Boyle.
The world likes her, the world wants to see her, the world cares for her and basically her achievements are enormous.

Its people like you who contributed to her unhappiness. The vicious critics, the media who gave her no peace and just wanted to criticise and demolish.

Susan Boyle in my eyes has all the integrity of a singer. She doesn’t kow-tow to the norms of glitz and glammer, she’s real.

Give me her anyday on my TV screen then the twits and vious people who just want to rubbish her. Including you. I didn’t know you were a music critic. Just leave her alone

The Right Group won!!! I love Susan Boyle! She’s got great talent, and a wonderful voice, but for DIVERSITY, they were PERFECT! To have gotten a group sooo together, all ages sizes, talents. Showed, extremely hard work, lots of hours of rehersals to get it right. Perfecting the flaws, “They blew Flawless out of the water, and Nailed It!!!” as one of the Judges commented.

This is an Amazing Group, and I’m absolutely proud of them. Would love to host them on my show in Jamaica in October 2009. Talent, Diverse, Creative, and knows what to deliver & when – Priceless, They deserved to win!
