Piers Morgan Was Upset By Natalie Okri’s Tears

Piers Morgan has admitted that he felt awful when Natalie Okri broke down into tears on stage last night, after she failed to make the Britain’s Got Talent final.
Piers, who has three sons of his own, said on his blog: “I’d just like to say a special word about poor young Natalie, who was distraught at missing out on her final place.
“I was watching as she walked off the stage at the end crying, and thinking, like everyone, ‘I hope her mum’s here somewhere.’
“Well, she was, waiting at the bottom of the stage steps, to take her into her arms and console her. And by the time she studio lights went up after the show ended, Natalie was smiling.”

Its hard on youngsters performing. Natalie has a lovely voice but was given the wrong song and the backing singers were too loud for her, its a shame because with the right song she deserved a place in the final. That would not have fitted in with the judges plans though would it serious competition.
You know this is the very reason why I think children should have there own competition. If this were to happen than parents would group together and come up with ways in which to console upset children and also ways to encourage them not to give up.
It will always seems so unfair that you have children competing in an adult competition.
It is even more poignant in adult competition because the adults will feel that they haven’t got all of there life ahead of them whereas children have.
As a viewer I also myself myself do I vote on whether the child is talented or just plain cute? My answer is that given the choice between a talented adult and a talented child, I’d vote for the adult.
I think the idea of a childrens talent show is a good idea. As when you’re older, you’re more able to take rejection.
I think that Natalie’s first audition was good, she can sing the ballad-like songs, like no one by Alicia Keys.
Although, I thought her choice of singing superstar by Jamelia was a very bad decision, however much she wants to be a ‘diva’. Beyonce is a ‘diva’ and she sings ballad-like songs e.g Halo, If I were a boy and Ave Maria.
I think I’d feel terrible saying no to a young child, who was obviously very excited and wanted to be in the final a great deal. But at the end of the day, it’s a competition and that’s what it’s about. I don’t think children should be allowed on unless they’re 100% prepared for rejection. Diversity were better, although I’m sick of dance acts at the moment.
I really hope Shaheen wins! And can anyone tell me, why did Brit Chix even get through to the semi’s? Why were they even considered? It’s a discrace, along with Darth Jackson and Kay the human saxaphone. That 12 year old drummer, Keiran should’ve gone through. He had real talent.
Hello Kell,
There are a few acts I certainly would not have put through to the heats.
There are also a few who should have been put through and given there chance to impress again.
I don’t honestly think the judges are asking themselves what the Queen might like to see and this is the reason why the wrong acts have got through. Instead the judges have asked themselves what they want to see and unfortunately that means the great British public have been subjected to acts which are not safe and in some ways macabre or unsuitable to watch. I also suspect that what talent has been there is at the lowest level rather than the epitomy of skill, gift or craft.
I realise that when an individual speaks like this it is not popular and that I have just grown two heads.
why the fuc** did susan boyle get in over natalie susan boyle was great but on her second performance she was cr** Natalie may have chosen the wrong song but I would of rather her be in the final than susan
I think we need to look at this with maturity deserving of adults. Natalie did not have a great voice, she’s a child much like any other child. Natalie is also very cute and has a lovely smile, but that for me does not mean she should be given a life changing opportunity for what appears to be a temperary average skill of singing. On the night of the heat Suasan Boyle did show nerves and what the obvious effects of nerves can do to an individual. A weak start to her tune, some breathing issues, a pitching and timing problem.
Why the nerves came was due to two reasons the first, realising that she’d made it beyond an audition and second the equipment she was using on the night was faulted.
If Susan can calm her nerves which she does not realise that she has and the quirky behaviour and view the competition as a serious chance for her to make it as a professional singer, against the mediocrity of what BGT has brought forth this year she will be fabulous.
natalie should have gone though to the finals she was so talanted….
We will just have to agree to differ, especially as most children are nto mature enough to cope with getting through each stage let alone failing to get through on a stage. Why vote for cute when you can vote for real talent?
