Simon Cowell has high hopes for the new Britain’s Got Talent series he has revealed.
The music mogul concluded judges auditions for the ITV show just a few weeks ago, after he, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon travelled the length and breadth of the country trying out hopeful entertainers.
It was an event filled process, with the girls staging a walk out on one day and him begging them to say yes to one of his favourite acts on another and Simon has told The Mirror that he is expecting the end result to be worth all the effort.
Simon said: “It’s going to be a great show this year.”
He sounds a little disappointed that there won’t be any canine acts to follow in Ashleigh and Pudsey’s footsteps though and continued:
“We’ve found some good talent across the UK, not really any dogs this year though, sadly, but there will be lots of fun and some great acts.”
Simon currently splits his time between America and the UK, as he works on The X Factor USA and his British shows. He was in London last week for The Brit Awards and looked like he was enjoying himself on the red carpet immensely.
The TV boss revealed that eventually he would like to settle back in England and he admitted that his mum is keen for him to come home permanently.
He said: “I love my time in Britain, so I always look forward to being here and it’s where I feel at home.
“I’m actually quite British really. My mum would love me to live here full time again. I can’t see myself living in America forever. At some point I look forward to coming home. I work two years ahead though.”
Britain’s Got Talent returns to our TV screens in April and acts that have shone so far this year include Irish dancers Keep It Reel, magician James More, Bethan Horton, girl group Primrose Hill, magician Ryan Hicks, Andrew Leigh Evans, Jack Duff and Cormac Connell and McKNasty.
