Simon Cowell to return for Britain’s Got Talent 2012 and he’s bringing Barbara Windsor?

Simon Cowell has reportedly decided to return to Britain’s Got Talent as a judge next year.

The music mogul was said to be considering leaving the show and focusing on his American TV ventures in 2012, but has now decided to return to the ITV series.

Insiders think his decision may have been influenced by the lack of success enjoyed by his game show format Red Or Black over the summer and also by the falling X Factor ratings this year.

An ITV source told The Mirror: “Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet. His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers.”

David Hasselhoff yesterday confirmed that he had been sacked from the show and Michael McIntyre revealed earlier in the year that he had left the panel, so ITV bosses are currently trying to fill their spots.

Names in the frame so far have included Dannii Minogue, Samantha Womack and David Walliams and The Mirror today claims that Cowell himself is trying to persuade actress Barbara Windsor to join the lineup.

The source added: “Simon’s been focussing on US X Factor and viewing figures for his British shows have fallen. He won’t take chances with BGT.”
