Superstar: Amanda Holden’s theme for her dressing room is… church!
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has revealed that whenever she stars on a show, she likes to “theme” her dressing room, and as she’s presenting Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s Superstar, she’s chosen said theme to be “church.”
The show is of course a talent quest to find the new lead for a remake of Lloyd-Webber’s hit seventies musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Amanda explained that she’s in the process of adorning her dressing room with candles and crucifixes – and added that she wants to hire two nuns as “minders” – and she joked that she’s now working for “the Lord.”
She said, “I have worked for Simon Cowell, who thinks he is God, and now I’m working for The Lord. Not many people can say that…
“Every show I do I deck my dressing room out in a theme. For Britain’s Got Talent it was Union Jacks, and for Superstar I’m turning it into a church.
“I’ve been on eBay buying all these crosses, although after a while I did think it was getting a bit like The Omen with all the crucifixes everywhere.
“I was then worried it might bring bad luck.”
I think I too would be worried about the karmic payback for blasphemy!
