Susan Boyle has denied rumours that she is on the edge of a mental breakdown and assured her fans that she is “happy and doing fine”.

“I have never been accepted by the world before,” the Britain’s Got Talent star told the News of the World. “Now I do feel part of it, and I find it really exciting. I feel very content with myself, and as I’m finally achieving my dream I feel so lucky and privileged.

“I keep asking myself, ‘Is this really happening?’ And I keep expecting someone to say, ‘Ha, ha, love, we’re kidding’.”

Boyle added that the only thing she is scared of, is that her fame will disappear sometime soon.

“Everyone has fears but mine is probably that this will all disappear,” she said. “I want it to keep on going as long as possible.

“If it did all go away tomorrow, I know that I’ve enjoyed every moment of living the dream now.”
