Susan Boyle may be asked to sing for the Pope when he makes his UK visit this September.

Susan found overnight fame after auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent last year but had previously been singing in her local Catholic church choir for decades.

A spokesman for the Catholic Church in Scotland said the singer would be a “great asset” to the programme being arranged for the Papal visit. It is thought that she will be asked to sing at a mass in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow this September.

The Catholic Church in Scotland spokesman told The Mirror: “She certainly would be a great asset to the programme on the day and we hope to be able to discuss the possibility of her participation soon.”
