Susan Boyle’s accent causes problems on new movie The Christmas Candle

Susan Boyle has the voice of an angel, when she sings, but apparently when she talks many people find it hard to understand her.

The Britain’s Got Talent star has landed herself a part in a new Christmas movie but while filming the big screen project she’s had to re-record some of her dialogue apparently, because her accent has been so strong.

Boyle was raised in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland and told The Sun that her speaking voice has caused some problems on set. She explained:

“My Scottish accent was a bit thick in places, so I had to re-record some of my lines so you wouldn’t need subtitles. Note to self – must enunciate more!”

Even worse, because Susan was working late into the night to re record her segment she managed to miss one of the most important football matches of the year and didn’t get to watch Scotland’s 3-2 defeat to England at Wembley stadium a few week’s ago.

She said: “I worked ’til late in the evening so I missed the game.

“Scotland lost, but never mind. Better luck next time, boys.”

Boyle will be making her first appearance and takes on the role of Eleanor Hopewell in The Christmas Candle.

Talking about her first acting role Susan Boyle said:

“I can’t believe I’m making a film. I’m very excited to be a part of The Christmas Candle. Everyone on set is a delight to work with and it’s a fantastic experience to be part of the team.”

Previously Susan has starred as herself in I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story and in a 2011 documentary titled Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar.

Just a little FYI. She didn’t tell The Sun anything, they either managed to read a newsletter that was sent out to fans who signed up for it or they read it at one of the fansites.
