The Showbears disappoint David Walliams but Elton John and the Queen make it all all right

With all the rumours of David Walliams performing with the Showbears on Saturday, we thought his performance with the camp group at Birmingham Pride was a certainty.

It turns out, though, that a tiny detail was forgotten: actually asking David.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge took to his Twitter yesterday morning to express his disappointment in the group he supported with a vigour throughout the series, tweeting:

“I can’t believe The Showbears didn’t ask me to perform with them at Birmingham Pride. Next time boys please….!”

The lovable Bears were shocked by David’s message and quickly wrote back to him:

“We promise we will ask you next time!!! So get your outfit ready! ;0) xxx”

Later adding: “TALK ABOUT GUILT!!! :0( Sorry!!!!!”

David wasn’t upset for long, though, as he was later visiting Elton John’s Jubilee Tea Party and then watched the amazing concert at Buckingham Palace from a special seat with his wife and friend David Furnish. He also took time out to share some amazing pictures and jokes with his fans on Twitter. He wrote:

”At the Queen’s concert. I just met Sir Cliff Richard. Exciting…!”

”I got into a bit of bother with a policeman on the way to the concert. Oh dear…”

”I have seen two Roger Moore era Bond girls at the concert. Grace Jones and Barbara Bach. Am now officially in heaven!”

”The moment just before my arrest.”

”Me and my very first crush. The impossibly beautiful Barbara Bach from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’.”

”That was a magical night. I am so happy I was invited.”

”The funniest moment from last night was when Sir Elton John tried to dance with Sir Cliff Richard at the very end. Sir Cliff fought him off!”

Meanwhile, to add to the festivities the Showbears have made David an offer to make up for their previous error. They wrote:

”I think all our shows from now on should feature David… What do you think Mr Walliams? We are hoping to do G.A.Y and we know for sure that David wants to join us…”
