The Voice bosses are planning to pitt their show against Britain’s Got Talent once again this year, it has been reported.
Simon Cowell was livid in 2012, when the BBC put their singing series head to head with his rival ITV show, damaging his ratings and creating competition that had no previously been an issue.
The Sun has revealed that the first live show from the Beeb will clash with the BGT live final and sources say bosses are already planning to pull out the big guns, to make sure their show attracts the most viewers.
A source said:
“Putting The Voice’s first live show up against the Britain’s Got Talent final is a bold move. But The Voice is coming back stronger this year and bosses are confident any teething problems experienced last time have been erased.”
A BBC spokesman said: “The Voice series 2 live shows will start on June 8. We aren’t aware of a date for the Britain’s Got Talent final.”
Simon Cowell almost predicted that this would happen only a few weeks ago. Speaking at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in London he admitted:
“It will be very competitive.:
“I don’t take anything for granted. It will rest on how good the talent is on the shows.”
Cowell thinks his show can come out on top, because in the end they advanced past The Voice at the end of the series last year. He added:
“Everyone kind of predicted doom and gloom and then the word of mouth spreads, and in the end we beat them.
“I don’t take anything for granted. We push these producers like crazy to try and make a better show than we did the year before, but it actually will rest on how good the talent is or how bad it is.”
