Tracy Lee Collins Reaches Semi Finals Of Britains Got Talent
Tracy started singing in his mid-twenties. He did some drama, joined a barbershop quartet and later did the working men’s club circuit in a duo called ‘Free and Easy’ with his good friend Liz for two years.
Tracy has not performed for years but loves singing and believes it is what he is meant to do. His dream is to do musicals (would love to play Michael Ball’s character in ‘Hairspray’) or to release records although he says he ‘doesn’t dare to hope’.
Tracy decided to audition for Britain’s Got Talent after watching the show last year and genuinely sees it as his last chance. He would love to perform at the Royal Variety as he thinks it would be the ‘biggest experience one can have’.
He has worked for the council in housing for 12 years before becoming an occupational therapist working with autistic adults which he has done for the last ten years. Although he enjoys his work he feels he has reached a crossroads in his life and although he doesn’t want to do his job forever and dreams of performing full time, he feels he is at an age where there are less opportunities for singers and Britain’s Got Talent is therefore his last shot at this.
Judges Comments:
Two buzzers from Simon and Amanda, two Yes’s from Piers and Amanda
Piers – You don’t cut the traditional picture of a pop star. As you went on I began to feel something. This show is about people like you.
Simon – It’s not about people like you. You should be in a dress. You have a girl’s voice.
Amanda – I agree with Piers.
