Matt Williams, husband of Erica Hurst is trying desperately to be given a place on the BBC’s Castaway team, inn order to be reunited with his new wife.
The pair were married only a matter of weeks before Erica jetted off to the other side of the world to take aprt in the BBC’s newest reality TV show. Matt has now formally nominated himself with a Radio 1 competition to join the 14 other castaways on New Zealand’s Great Barrier Island this week.
The nightclub security manager from Lostock is hoping to make a shortlist from which the station’s listeners will vote one person onto the show next month.
If the ratings keep slipping, BBC might just find this is the twist they need to bring the viewers back.
