The show kicks off tonight but Steve is thought to have only signed up for the series within the last few days.

A source told The Sun: “He’s not a huge name like LaToya Jackson but he’s a zany character and that’s what Big Brother is all about.

Sources have claimed that Latoya Jackson pulled out of appearing on this years I’m A Celebrity in order to take part in Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother.

Latoya is said to have agreed to enter the jungle in November but changed her mind after she watched some footage of the show and realised what it would entail.

A source told The Sun: “When she realised she might have to eat kangaroo testicles that was it.”

Tony Mortimer Celebrity Big Brother Standby?

Sources suggest that Tony Mortimer from former boyband, East 17, has been lined up as a standby for this years Celebrity Big Brother show.

The newest series kicks off tonight, but if one of the stars leaves early or walks off Tony will be waiting in the wings to take their place.

A source told The Sun: “Tony’s really excited, he really wants someone to walk so he can go in.

“He’s been out of the limelight for a while and he wants a comeback.”

Tommy Sheridan For Celebrity Big Brother 2009

Controversial Scottish politician, Tommy Sheridan is said to be ready to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house tonight.

Tommy will be the second politician to appear on the show after George Galloway made a fool of himself in 2007 by impersonating a horny cat.

Rupert Adams, from William Hill, isn’t optimistic about Tommy’s chances and would not be surprised if he was the first to be evicted from the house.

Celebrity Big Brother kicks off tomorrow night and Hollywood star, Verne Troyer is rumoured to have signed up as a housemate.

Verne played Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies and stands at a mere 2 foot 8 inches tall. BB bosses have made an effort to fit the house out so that he can manage on a day to day basis but sources suggest that Verne has also requested a mini staircase with wheels that he can use to reach all areas of the house.

An insider told The Sun: “Verne is tiny, so everything in his own home is decked out so he can use it.

Look at us in the Celebrity Big Brother house!!!!!

Yesterday we were lucky enough to have been invited for a press tour of the Big Brother house and see first hand where this years celebrities would be spending their next three weeks.

We loved the luxury bedroom and the new garden layout, check out those pictures here, but we particularly enjoyed getting our photo taken in the extended nomination pod and in the revamped diary room.

Check out the pictures over the jump and by the way they insisted we wear the strange blue shoes so the carpets weren’t ruined, I am really not that unfashionable!

This year there will be no cameras in the showers or toilets and the housemates will have all round access to gym equipment whilst they are in the house.

This years Celebrity Big Brother housemates have been told to watch the previous series of the show and learn from mistakes of the housemates.

The last series of the show aired two years ago and ended in a blaze of fury after Jade Goody made various racist remarks about Indian actress, Shilpa Shetty.

In a bid to ensure that a similar scandal doesn’t occur again show bosses have met with all eleven housemates lined up for 2009 and asked them to watch previous episodes so that they know what to expect.

Sir Paul McCartney hates reality TV shows

Paul McCartneySir Paul McCartney has blasted reality TV shows such as The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity because he reckons they humiliate people and take over TV scheduling.

The veteran singer told The Sunday Times that reality TV shows are “crowding out more creative programmes.”

“You can’t turn on the telly without somebody being judged by four people, whether they are on ice, or on the stage or in the jungle” he said.

“It’s compulsive viewing, but so is a traffic accident.”

X Factor’s Brian Friedman hits out at criticism

Brian FriedmanThe X Factor’s Creative Director, Brian Friedman, has recently spoken out about his annoyance at Cheryl Cole’s criticism of his choice of outfits for some of the finalists during the show.

Brian helped boyband JLS come up with their outfits and choreography during Big Band week but Cheryl wasn’t impressed and called the boys outfits ‘dated’.

‘I didn’t think their jackets were dated at all,’ Brian told Now magazine.

Ulrika reckons that Myleene Klass “should thank” I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here for reviving her career.

Myleene, 30, landed a well paying advertising contract with M&S after she took part in the show in 2006 and Ulrika made the catty comments about her in Now magazine.

Ulrika Jonsson To Earn £175,000 For Celebrity Big Brother 2009?

Ulrika Jonsson is rumoured to be the highest paid celebrity ever to appear on Big Brother, commanding a huge £175,000 fee.

The show kicks off this Friday night on Channel 4 and BB bosses are said to be hoping that Ulrika will tell all about her high profile relationships with stars like former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, TV presenter John Leslie and footballer Stan Collymore.

If figures leaked to the Daily Mail are anything to go by, Jonsson is being paid way more than her fellow housemates, the worst-paid is rumoured to be Ben Adams, formerly of the boy band A1, who will earn £20,000.
