Could Patsy Palmer Be Nancy?

When I read that Patsy Palmer wanted to play the role of Nancy in the West End version of Oliver, I was sceptical to say the least. But I got my hands on this clip where, granted, she only sings a few lines of ‘As Long As He Needs Me’, she sounded great to me. And she has the accent down as well……maybe she should have entered I’d Do Anything. She would have been better that Keisha!

I’d Do Anything: Niamh Perry’s Acne Agony!

I’d Do Anything contestant, Niamh Perry, was once so self concious about her acne that she feared leaving the house.

“She became very self-conscious. She always had so much talent at music and drama,” a friend told The Mirror. “Everybody knew she was destined to be a star. But it was never going to happen while she had such bad skin.”

However Niamh consulted specialist dermatologists and was put on strong antibiotics and cream, after which her skin gradually improved.

Tara Leaves I’d Do Anything!

Tara’s dream is over as she becomes the third contestant to be eliminated from BBC One’s I’d Do Anything.

After a public vote Keisha and Tara were the least popular Nancy’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to save Keisha. So Tara is the third Nancy to leave the competition.

In Saturday’s live show, all ten remaining Nancy finalists performed solo renditions of songs from musicals chosen to show viewers that they have the skill and sheer charisma to carry one of the most challenging roles in musical theatre.

After performing their songs and receiving feedback from Andrew Lloyd Webber and the expert panel of John Barrowman, Denise Van Outen and Barry Humphries, the Nancy’s faced a nervous wait for viewers to cast their votes. Read more & comment »

John Barrowman Gets Botox!

I’d Do Anything judge, John Barrowman has admitted to getting regular botox injections in order to keep his youthful looks.

The star of BBC’s Torchwood told new! magazine: I don’t swear by it (botox), but I think it’s quite good. The key is to not do the forehead. Men need forehead lines and doing the forehead makes you look like Nicole Kidman!

“If you’re going to do anything, just do it round the eyes, that’s all men need.”

I’d Do Anything: Chester Leads The Olivers In Pie Jesu

On I’d Do Anything this weekend, Chester became the second boy to get put through to the shows semi finals.

I thought he was just gorgeous as he led the boys in song last night!

As you will all know by now, Cleo became the second Nancy to leave BBC’s I’d Do Anything on Sunday night, but did she deserve to go?

You can watch the clip below and judge for yourself, but I feel that Andrew Lloyd Webber made the right call.

When asked to comment on Spacey’s remarks John told Capital Radio in true Barrowman style: “You know what, shut up! It’s promoting theatre. Maybe he’s a bit upset because his plays just aren’t hits.”

The kind folks over at Andrewlloydwebber.com have provided us with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s first ‘I’d Do Anything’ video blog.

Graham Norton hit the nail on the head when he said the birth rate would soar during this series. Just watching these littleun’s singing makes me broody!

Little Gwion is beyond cute and so amazingly talented for a boy so young. But can we have a Welsh Oliver? What do you think?
