A report in today’s Independent claims that Andrew Sachs – who was of course subject to a ‘prank call’ from Jonathon Ross and Russell Brand – has himself pulled a similar stunt.

Just as the fuss over Call-Gate was beginning to die down, the paper claims that in the ‘80s, Sachs was a guest on his son’s radio show for Swansea Sound when a prank call was made to a member of the public.

Apparently, Sachs pretended to be the woman’s “long lost uncle” from Australia and during the call, he told the unsuspecting lady that he’d left Australia after “some trouble with the police” and went on to joke that he’d buried some jewels under a tree in a park. Read more & comment »

Singing sensation Hayley Westenra has told the PA that she thinks Simon Cowell would “slate” her if she turned up for an X Factor audition.

“I don’t know how I’d have fared on a reality show” Hayley said, adding, “I think Simon Cowell would have slated me.

“You have to be a certain type of singer and have a certain type of appeal.”

The proud dad of X Factor twins, John and Edward, has told the Daily Star that his boys won’t be cowed by “bullies”.

John Snr told the paper how the boys were taunted as children because of their extrovert characters and “wacky clothes”.

According to the Sun newspaper today, Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer is threatening to leave The X Factor following another row with his mentor, Simon Cowell.

The paper claims that rockers Bon Jovi were so impressed by Jamie when they heard him sing last week, that they invited him to tour with them as a support act, however, it appears Simon refused to allow Jamie to go, claiming he was contracted to the show.

This latest row follows a bust-up Simon and Jamie allegedly had a couple of weeks ago when Simon insisted that Jamie change his song choice just hours before the show.

The paper quotes a source who’s close to Jamie as saying, “Jamie’s fed up with the competition and how Simon is treating him.

Katie Price has reportedly begged her ex-husband Peter Andre for regular meetings. Katie and Peter met for the first time since their divorce, as they rushed to be with Katie’s son Harvey who was hospitalised for suspected swine flu.

Peter is said to have rebuffed his ex, insisting that he is just there for the boy. A family friend told The Sun:

Danny Dyer has admitted that he is a big fan of X Factor’s Stacey Solomon but added that she needs to stop acting like a ‘div’ if she wants to win the show.

Peter reportedly left the dogs when he and Katie split because the children were so attached to them, however Katie allegedly refused to walk them and recently sold them without first consulting Pete.
