We’re watching Strictly and we’re writing as it happens….simple as that! Leave your comments on the show below, we’d love to hear from you!!
Austin Healy and his partner Erin took on the quickstep tonight and as always the man looked liked he has been dancing forever. I love Austin doing the faster more lively dances as he has such great energy!! The judges unanimously love him with only Craig Revel Horwood criticising two small timing issues.
Scores: Craig 8, Arlene 9, Len 10, Bruno 9 = 36
Heather Small & Brian Fortuna: I don’t really know why the judges slate these two week after week. Heather isn’t the best dancer on the show but I think she does an average job every week. I liked Heather tonight, I thought she danced well and think she has a great attitude on the dancefloor!
Scores: Craig 5, Arlene 5, Len 7, Bruno 6 = 23
Jodie Kidd & Ian really pulled things back tonight with their waltz. Last week Jodie was accused of being too horsey but tonight she was charming and elegant and moved beautifully on the dancefloor. The judges all loved her performance, which I’m sure was a relief after last week!
Scores: Craig 7, Arlene 8, Len 8, Bruno 8 = 31
Andrew Castle & Ola Jordan: Oh No!!! If Andrew survives this week I will be seriously surprised! He is trying to shimmy and looks like my dad, after 10 pints at a family wedding. Andrew started out in this competition so well and really seemed to be bucking the trend of bad dancing GMTV presenters, but things are going downhill fast now and with every week Andrew seems to lose more of his rhythm.
Scores: Craig 4, Arlene 5, Len 7, Bruno 5 = 21
Lisa Snowdon & Brendan Cole: I will be very surprised if this pair don’t make it to at least the semi finals of this show. Their tango tonight was full of energy and passion and Lisa seems to be getting better each week. Brendan has a reputation of being a hard taskmaster, but it is obviously paying off for him and Lisa!
Scores: Craig 8, Arlene 9, Len 9, Bruno 9 = 35
Cherie Lunghi: I thought that Cherie’s salsa started off weakly, and then continued in the same vein. Cherie is a fabulous dancer, but Salsa is clearly not her thing. She looked distracted and nervous throughout and I didn’t like the routine one bit. None of the judges liked it much either, with Craig thinking it was too stilted and Arlene branding it exasperatingly underpowered.
Scores: Craig 6, Arlene 6, Len 7, Bruno 7 = 26
John Sergeant & Kristina: I don’t really care if John can dance or not, I would hate to see him leave this competition as he makes me smile every time he takes to the floor. He has rhythm, he’s not awful and he is a like a big cuddly bear or an old cuddly grandpa at a tea party!
Scores: Craig 3, Arlene 5, Len 6, Bruno 6 = 20
Tom Chambers: Can I first say, what is that on Tom’s face? I think Tom is the sexiest thing to have ever hit Strictly but he looks much better without the facial hair! Back to the dancing, Tom is on top form tonight and his routine was full of passion and emotion. I was a little scared by the facial expression, but I still wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating biscuits!
Scores: Craig 8, Arlene 9, Len 8, Bruno 9 = 34
Christine Bleakley: Christine scored her lowest ever last week, with Craig awarding her a pitiful 3 for her routine. She is hoping for better scores for her American Smooth this week and I think they’re in the bag. She is so graceful and elegant and looks like she is loving the dance. The judges didn’t like it as much as me though, with both Len and Bruno saying she looked bad from the waist down.
Scores: Craig 7, Arlene 7, Len 8, Bruno 7 = 29
Rachel Stevens & Vincent Simone: I loved Rachel and Vincent’s rock and roll routine tonight. It was so much fun and they didn’t take themselves too seriously at all! Before now Rachel has kind of bored me but tonight her and Vincent were completely in sync with one another and performed amazingly!
Scores: Craig 7, Arlene 8, Len 8, Bruno 9 = 32
