As fans of former Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes will know, she’s been dating Jack Tweed, who of course married another BB star, Jade Goody, just weeks before she died of cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in 2009 aged just 27…
And as we reported a few weeks ago, Chanelle lashed out at Jack on Twitter after he said “Nobody can replace Jade” during a magazine interview.
However, it seems his emotional appearance on The Jeremy Kyle show yesterday, in which he talked about life following Jade’s death – and in which he described the star’s final moments – was the last straw for Chanelle, and she dumped Jack shortly afterwards.
Explaining her actions, Chanelle said, “It is overwhelmingly clear to me we shouldn’t have ever entered a relationship when he was still so badly grieving…
“This fact was never made clear to me and was always denied by him regardless of the support I offered to him.”
During Jack’s appearance on the show – which you can see in full below – he wept as he talked about Jade’s final moments, explaining that medics had told him the end was near for the mum of two.
He said, “The doctors said, ‘You will be able to tell when it happens because she’ll struggle for her breathing.’
“Her breath was getting heavier and heavier, her whole body was moving because she was struggling to breathe, and I couldn’t sit there no more.
“I kissed her and walked out and then it just went silent after a couple of minutes.”
The Mail Online adds, “Jack, who married Jade a month before he died, went to prison, accused of rape just six months after her death and he didn’t rate it much.”
Talking about that and his battle with grief, Jack said, “If I had a gun, I would have shot myself in the head.
“I didn’t shower. If I could have moved myself I probably would have killed myself.”
After the show aired, Chanelle tweeted, “Just to clarify re Jeremy Kyle interview today. I think Jack did very well and admire him for his commitment to jade in the later part of her life.
“Lately, the toll of this has caused us to come to the decision that him staying with us when he is not yet ready to move on from the love of his life is simply unfair to all involved.
“I wish Jack all the best for the future and hope that he manages to learn to deal with his grief and be happy finally.”
