Boy George for Channel 5′s Celebrity Big Brother 2012?

Boy George was supposed to appear in the 2010 series of Celebrity Big Brother, but was forced to pull out at the last minute after a judge ruled that he could not take part in the reality TV show, as he was on probation at the time.

However, the legal restrictions have passed and insiders say the Culture Club star is in talks about becoming a housemate on the next series, when it returns to Channel 5.

He has reportedly been offered a whopping £750,000 to take part, but is refusing to sing on the dotted line, until they up their figure. Sources say the 50 year old – real name George O’Dowd – is demanding £1 million for a month long stint.

Bosses may be convinced to up the sum and insiders say that they are keen to have the opinionated musician on their new series, as they believe he will bring fireworks to the show.

A source told the Daily Mail: ‘Boy George is a true British eccentric. He would make extremely interesting TV.’

Anna Pointer, acting editor of Star magazine, tweeted earlier today: ‘In a meeting discussing the new crop of Celeb Big Brother housemates. Sworn to secrecy but this is THE best line-up ever!’
