Celebrity Bg Brother: Julian Clary “I’ll marry my husband, but only if it’s a real marriage”
We haven’t heard much about Julian Clary for a while, but it turns out he is as busy as ever with his sell out tour.
In an interview with Scoutlondon Julian talked about his CBB time, which must feel like a lifetime away for him now.
“Like a lot of comedians, I’m not very funny or extroverted off-stage,” he reveals. “It took me a while to say anything vulgar in the Big Brother house. There were a lot of people in there performing for the cameras and I found that quite excruciating, so I went down into myself. I wanted to quit, but found myself thinking, ‘Just do one more day, one more day’.”
He also talks about wanting to marry his partner Ian and why he doesn’t want to get married just yet.
“My partner and I do talk about it,” he admits. “But I don’t want a civil partnership – I want marriage and all the romance of it. As soon as we can get properly married, we will be first down the aisle.”
Adding: “I would love to look back in 10 years – when it’s all fine and gay people are allowed to marry and there’s a lot more equality,” says Clary. “It’ll be interesting to look back to the people who think society is under threat due to this, and see if they say, ‘Sorry, I was wrong’.”
It’s good news for Julian, as his Postion Vacant show has extended into 2013 and is already selling out.
We’re hoping he will also do some new TV appearances soon, as he is missed.
