Celebrity Big Brother 2010: Stephen Baldwin needs to clear £1.4 million debt

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Stephen Baldwin reportedly decided to take part in the Channel 4 reality TV show in a bid to clear some of his £1.4 million debt.

The Hollywood actor was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last summer and is in need of his £150,000 Big Brother fee to keep his family home.

Stephen’s finances have suffered since he became a Christian in 2002 and started to turn down ‘unsuitable’ movie roles. He has been on the lookout for more ‘worthy’ film roles, but these appear to be thin on the ground.

According to The Mirror, Court records indicate that Baldwin owes £750,000 in two mortgages on a house he owns in the upstate New York town of Nyack. He also owes more than £620,000 in taxes.

Lawyer Bruce Weiner told the newspaper: “Stephen’s just trying to make some money and support his family.”
