Celebrity Big Brother 2012: Martin Kemp says of his time in the house, “The biggest challenge is the downtime”

As fans of Celebrity Big Brother will know, former EastEnders star Martin Kemp finished in third place in this summer’s series, and today, he’s been speaking exclusively to omg! about his time in the house and his housemates.

First, Martin revealed that he’s not upset that he didn’t win, adding, “For me there wasn’t any difference between coming out sixth or coming out third or second.

“I think it is wonderful if you are the winner- I was very pleased to make it to the final.

“It’s just nice when the doors opened and you felt the fresh air and saw other people rather than the final five that I was talking to.”

Of the fact that Julian Clary won, Martin said, “All credit to Julian because he was funny all the way through it and grew into the show…

“At first he was a tough nut for me to crack. I’ve never met anyone who is as closed as Julian.

“Gradually as the three weeks passed he opened up more. So hopefully by the end he will call me a friend.”

When asked what he’d found most difficult about being a CBB housemate, he said, “The biggest challenge is the downtime.

“When the tasks are going on you are fine because you’ve got a lot on your mind and its fun but the downtime is very difficult.”

However, he added, “I was very lucky because the weather was very good when we were in there so I spent a lot of time lying on the sun loungers.

“I was kind of putting it in my mind that I was in some kind of boutique hotel in California on the roof so I kind of twisted my mind into believing that- then I was ok.”

And finally, when asked if he regrets going into the house, he said, “I have none [regrets] at all which I am really pleased about.

“This is why I am sitting here this morning with a smile on my face because there isn’t anything I regret.

“I did everything I wanted to do.”

Aww, he was a great housemate wasn’t he? And let’s face it, not bad to look at!
