Celebrity Big Brother 2013: Déjà vu strikes as Paula Hamilton says of Simon Cowell, “I was in love with him”
Fans of Celebrity Big Brother will no doubt recall that volatile former housemate Jasmine Lennard – despite being slapped with a gagging order – discussed her failed relationship with X Factor boss Simon Cowell during her time in the house last year.
Jasmine, who has Simon’s initials tattooed on her wrist, also stated that she’s confident that one day, she and Simon could reunite.
And in a moment of déjà vu, Paula Hamilton, who also had a relationship with Simon, has told her fellow CBB housemates, “I was in love with him.”
Apparently, Paula reckons that she lost her virginity to Simon when she was 16 years old and that he soon became the love of her life…
Speaking about Simon before she went into the house, 54 year old Paula said, “When I first knew Simon he was good-looking and extremely charming.
“I loved him, of course.
“He is still just a lovely and sweet guy.”
The Daily Star adds, “Paula met Simon, inset, when they attended the Licensed Victuallers’ School in Slough, Berkshire. She recalled how he defended her in lessons.”
She said, “The teachers would take the p**s out of me for being dyslexic and because I couldn’t remember things.
“Simon would say ‘Sir, why are you being so obnoxious to Hamilton?’
“It was powerful at the time and it didn’t happen again.”
She continued, “He can just be a confirmed bachelor. But if he is going to marry anyone he is going to marry me.
“He will probably get around to it when I’m old and toothless.”
A bitchier person may say that she’s halfway there on both counts, but not I…
However, also during the interview, Paula revealed that she’s arranged a secret “signal” to alert the show’s producers if things get too much and she has a panic attack.
She said, “I have always had panic attacks and knowing they can happen in the house is scary.”
It’s believed that Paula was diagnosed as having had a panic attack on the first night of the show, following which she was moved to the Main House.
Here’s a reminder of Paula at the height of her career in the 80s…
