It’s been reported today that former EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth – who of course played Kathy Beale – and comedian Jim Davidson are both going into the Celebrity Big Brother house when the show returns to Channel 5 on January 3rd.
However, it’s going to be super awkward when host Brian Dowling has to interview Jim because they formerly had a right royal falling out after they took part in Hell’s Kitchen in 2007…
Jim was booted off the show after he called Brian a “shirt lifter” and branded him “a f***ing disgrace.”
Hundreds of viewers complained – which prompted the decision to axe Jim from the show – but when he wrote Brian a letter of apology, saying he was a “non-PC fossil” Brian tore it up and vowed to have nothing more to do with Davidson…
But of course, he’ll not only have to have a few brief words with Jim – who recently spoke about the Jimmy Savile scandal – as he goes into the house, he’ll also have to interview him when he leaves.
A show insider told The Sun, “Jim often says what he thinks, even if his views are at odds with most people.
“He got himself into a lot of trouble when he was on Hell’s Kitchen with Brian but hopefully he will be on better behaviour with him this time.
“It’s true to say there is no love lost between the pair of them but Brian is a professional and this is part of his job.”
Here’s a look at Brian and Jim on Hell’s Kitchen…
Back now to the news that Gillian Taylforth is going into the house, she’s now single after having ditched her allegedly abusive partner Geoff Knight.
It was of course while she was with him that she allegedly took part in a sexual act at a roadside, which she denied and said that she was rubbing Knight’s stomach as he was having a pancreatic attack. She sued The Sun newspaper over printing an article about the incident, but she lost the case.
Here’s a reminder of Gillian on EastEnders in one of the show’s biggest storylines which saw her character Kathy raped by evil toff Willmott-Brown
