Bizarre former model Paula Hamilton has sparked outrage behind the scenes of Celebrity Big Brother after telling her fellow housemates that Jade Goody died because of the “negativity” that trailed her after her appearances on the show.
And as if that wasn’t controversial enough, Paula told fellow housemate Lacey Banghard that if she’s first out during Wednesday night’s eviction show, it’ll be because she’s “hated” by the public.
Paula told Lacey, “Just pass me the razor blades.”
More on that in a moment, but first, back to what she had to say about Jade…
Jade was of course originally a regular housemate then later went on to take part in the Celebrity version – during which she sparked a racism row over her words about fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty – and she then of course appeared on the Big Boss, the show’s India version.
It was while in the Big Boss house that Jade learned by telephone that she had cervical cancer. She was immediately flown back to Britain for treatment but it was basically too late to save her life as the cancer was too widespread.
Tragically, Jade died on Mother’s Day in 2009.
Of her, Paula said, “I wonder how many people have committed suicide after being on these programmes?
“It’s torture. It killed Jade. All that negativity did that.
“I think it gave her cancer.”
Returning to her words about suicide if she’s evicted this week, the Daily Star reports that Paula said, “It’s the worst thing for my career to be first out.
“It’ll finish me off. Flat out. Dumph! Gone.
“So pass me the razor blades. Just pass me the razor blades. I know what the public are like.
“Frankie is loved. And Heidi and Spencer say they want to go but I know how the public work.
“They think: ‘Haha, they want to go out. We’re gonna keep them in.’
“I don’t know what to do with myself. I feel like smashing my way out. I feel unsafe in here.
“There’s some really weird people out there man. I don’t know if I’m gonna get blown up any moment.”
The paper adds, “This is not the first time that Paula has been linked to a suicide scare. In her 20s, she tried to hang herself from a chandelier after her boyfriend at the time, Army officer Sebastian Rhodes- Stampa, dumped her.”
The paper quotes Paula as having said, “I thought: ‘Please let me murder myself.’
“I kicked the ladder away and heard a creak and landed on the floor with the chain and part of my ceiling around me.
“I sat there and started to drunkenly laugh and cry. I couldn’t even kill myself.”
Paula was originally supposed to go into the house in 2009, but she failed the tests that contestants had to undergo to ascertain their physical and mental health, and she was replaced by another celeb that year.
However, Paula says that the contents of the psychological report were leaked to the press, and she further claims that ruined her career.
She said, “I was never called mad until 2009. I ended up on benefits and all my work stopped.”
And of CBB specifically, Paula said, “They’ve broken me. This show has broken my soul.”
Steps star Claire Richards, evidently concerned about her outburst, said, “She’s like a caged animal.”
Do you think Paula will be first out? And if the report in the Star is correct, should the show’s bosses remove her from the house now, rather than waiting for her to somehow implode?
Let us know, but for now, here’s a reminder of the moment that poor Jade learned she had cancer…
