It’s been revealed today that when former Celebrity Big Brother housemates Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag make their first official public appearance at a meet-and-greet today in London, they’ll have an “army” of minders amid fears they could come under attack.
The couple, known as Speidi, will be signing copies of OK! magazine in WH Smith at London’s Brent Cross shopping centre today, and they’ll be filmed doing so by Channel 5 cameras for their forthcoming show, The Speidi Story.
Speidi became “Britain’s most hated” couple during their time in the house, and even received death threats.
However, for as many people hate them, there are more who love them, and both Spencer and Heidi have seen a massive surge in their Twitter followers since they starred in CBB.
The Daily Star quotes the couple as saying of today’s outing, “Come and meet the King and Queen of Reality TV. See ya there.”
On Twitter, the couple added, “To all the lovers and haters in Britain, come and see the real Speidi before we head back to the USA.
“We’ve been reading all your Tweets about us. So now come and tell us in the flesh. Ha ha ha!”
A spokesman for WH Smith said, “Everyone is very excited Speidi are coming. For health and safety reasons we will have 15 security guards.”
And of The Speidi Story, it’s believed the show chronicle the “rise and fall and rise again” of the couple.
A show spokesman said: “Speidi have gone from being America’s most loathed couple to a new UK phenomenon, thanks to Celeb Big Brother. This is their story.”
The one-hour special will air on Channel 5 later this month but for now, here’s a look at the couple shortly after they left the house…
