A former friend of Celebrity Big Brother’s Dane Bowers has claimed that the singer tried to win Katie Price back, after she split from husband Peter Andre.

Dane and Katie dated for two and a half years when Katie Price first started out as a glmaour model and his pal Adam said that in a bid to raise his profile once more, Dane tried to reconnect with her last summer.

Adam told The Mirror: “The second he heard Katie had split with Peter he was on Facebook trying to track her down. Then she invited us round for drinks. The two of them were kissing and ­cuddling all night and reminiscing about old times.

“It was pretty obvious she still had feelings for him, but I’m sure he was just using her to regain some fame.”

Adam added: “He’s a troublemaker and if he starts boozing the true Dane will come out.”

Despite Dane coming across as a peacemaker on the Channel 4 reality TV show, his former best friend claims that he is actually an agreesive man with an explosive temper. He said:

“Dane is coming across like a nice guy, but I know what he’s really like – incredibly selfish with a bad temper.”

On the recent incident which spelled the end of their friendship Adam revealed:

“It was when Dane was ­sleeping on my sofa. Myself and Dane had been for a night out with my other housemate and, as usual, he pulled and went home early.

“Later that night we opened the living room door. He went mad and jumped off this poor girl and chased us out.

“I went up to my room but he came bursting in and threw me up against the wall. He lost it and punched me.”
