Celebrity Big Brother: John McCririck Insults Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty - Celebrity Big BrotherInterviewer John Daly was stunned this week as he interviewed former Big Brother housemate John McCririck for Sky’s Overseas Property show.

John was flabbergasted as the overweight McCririck blasted: “She’s no wonder girl. How many times has she had sex ? Probably very few and not very often.”

He continued: “These girls are very precious. Their bodies are so special that no man may penetrate it. She is difficult.”

After the ordeal was over, John daly revealed: “I was taken aback. It was one of the most challenging interviews I have ever done.”

Try living with him John! All I can say is poor Booby!

Look John McCririck is plainly off his head ( a few sandwiches short of a picnic) but you have to laugh at this statement. Firstly it sends up the hype that is Shilpa Shetty and despite his language being crude and old fashion, his sentiments have an aura of truth.
The truth is Shilpa has always been and is, a very smooth, tough and sophisticated customer who came to England not ” represent all Asians ” as she so arrogantly states - but to promote her self and raise her profile – period!! Ask anyone who has a modicum of knowledge about Bollywood, and they will tell you that her career was on the downer and she wanted a global profile, to secure a coveted Hollywood role, which by all accounts I think she has achieved.
To put a cultural perspective on this, last week I listened to the Anita Rani Phone In show on BBC Asian Network.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/anita_rani/
Where they were having a debate about whether Shilpa had duped the British Asian community ( sic). An assertion was made that Shilpa had not really given British Asians the credence/ recognition that they deserved for supporting her and that she was consciously avoiding mentioning the issue of racism – which many felt was part of their lives. What was really interesting, was that a consensus emerged during the show that pointed to Shilpa’s evident class difference and lack of knowledge of the British Asian experience. People were aggrieved that she dropped the issue of racism and felt it was an executive decision by her new PR management team - notably Max Clifford. (She sacked her British Indian team who secured her the original CBB contract - nice one eh). This strategy simply nuetralised any potential controversy, making her more marketable for advertisers and the media.
During the show, a more rounded and honest picture of her emerged, which I glad to say was devoid of the hysteria that had taken hold of the nation and our rational minds. In fact a couple of listeners said that they had more in common with Jade and Daniel than Shilpa.
So back to mad old John McCririck - definitely a complete nutter- but you know some times nutters have a poetic way of shinning the light on reality.
And by the way, just to avoid any form of ambiguity regarding the recent CBB 5 debacle. The responsibility for this disaster rest not on the shoulders of Jade, Daniel or Jo but on the lofty exploitative shoulders of Channel 4 and the Global Endomol empire, who knew exactly what they were doing when they placed these wildly different characters in their experimental cage. For it is they who should be vilified not ordinary people who were prone to make mistakes in that artificial environment- lets attack the real power not their proxies!!!

    Peace
