Nicola McLean is blaming her row with Denise Welch on causing the return of an eating disorder from which she used to suffer.

The former glamour model has previously admitted that she battled with bulimia when she was younger and in a recent interview, said that her row with Denise in the Celebrity Big Brother house and the subsequent negative reaction from the British public, has caused her to backslide and become bulemic again.

The women argued, after a drunken Denise jokingly pulled on the trousers of fellow housemate, Playboy model Karissa Shannon. After she defended herself against the blonde beauty and her twin, Nicola became involved, attacking Welch verbally in front of the other housemates.

Just days later she was evicted from the house in which the Channel 5 reality TV show is filmed.

Speaking to Now, McLean claimed that the whole incident has caused her massive personal problems over the last month and explained:

‘I love Denise and admire her on Loose Women but it really got to me that she seemed to think because we’ve posed in magazines we wouldn’t mind showing our bodies in the house.

‘I’ve always had to deal with people’s opinions about me being a Page 3 girl – a job I had to do to survive after growing up extremely poor and with no qualifications – but this time, the stress of such a heated argument triggered my bulimia.’

In fact, the WAG insists that the bulimia reared it’s head before she was even evicted and that she made herself vomit in the bathroom after her argument, while still in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

She added:

‘My eating disorder’s been well documented in the past but, although I thought I’d beaten it, I actually made myself sick in the house that night.

‘I felt so desperately upset – it was my only way of coping. The rest of the housemates thought I was just crying in the toilet.’
