Celebrity Big Brother: OFCOM Receive More Than 200 Racism Complaints Regarding Shilpa Shetty
OFCOM have revealed that they have received more then 200 complaints against alleged racist remarks and attitudes displayed against Shilpa Shetty in the Big Brother house.
Here at Unreality TV we pointed out some of the housemates racist attitudes on our forum almost a week ago, and we have also given our opinion on the bullying of Shilpa Shetty by Danielle Lloyd and Jade Goody.
The treatment of Shilpa in the Celebrity Big Brother house has often been horrendous. Jackiey started the trend by constantly speaking down to Shilpa and by calling her “Indian”. Not one other housemate who heard Jackiey using this term told her it was unacceptable.
Danielle, Jade and even Jo have continued where Jackiey left off, often bitching about Shilpa, using every excuse to snipe at and criticise her. Over the weekend, former beauty queen Danielle Lloyd and ex-S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara poked fun at Shilpa’s accent. Yet not one has been able to give a justifiable reason for their grudge against the Bollywood beauty.
Other housemates have noticed the treatment that Shilpa has been receiving, ex-Steps star Ian claimed: “It’s turning into that film – Lord Of The Flies.”
“Were they bullying Shilpa last night?” asked Jermaine Jackson today.
“Yeah,” Ian replied. “I’m not playing those games. I’m not going to be part of it.”
OFCOM are currently wading through the complaints that continue to bombard them. An Ofcom spokeswoman said: “We have had approximately 200 complaints of racism.
“Quite a lot of websites have been discussing the issue and urging people to get in contact with us. We will look into each individual complaint.”
I hope that this whole episode will spell the end of both Jade’s and Danielle’s celebrity careers, they are a pair of venomous young women, with no backbone or individuality. They are the Big Brother equivalent of the school yard bullies. Jo I think has fallen in with the wrong crowd. She often realises that things have gone too far, and she certainly thought that Danielle had been excessive in her treatment of Shilpa last Friday, but so far Jo has been unable to speak out against Jade or Danielle. If she remains affiliated with the pair, they will be her downfall.

I cannot believe you are accepting this behaviour when every newspaper nationally and internationally are reporting this story.
It is no doubt bullying and undertones of racism and you know it.

Evelyn Lewis you said it, you see the white girls as the daughters you never had, and it makes you blind to their behaviour, they can do no wrong it your eyes.
Nikki was a complete bigotted self -obessed spoilt git, but you dont care as she could have physically dropped out of your womb as Jade, danielle, jo etc could.
If I had a daughter like Jade she would have been growing up with Tracy Beaker.
Shilpa and Jermaine obviously couldnt have dropped out of your bod, with their darkie genes, so you dont have that psychological attachment to them.

That is what Jade thinks when she sees Shilpa and thats what you think yourself. Thats what is defined as racism.
I look at people as people . I dont judge them because they could possibly be my genetic children, brothers or sisters , so see them in a better light than those who racially couldnt. Sadly so many people do and will continue to do so.
If shilpa was white Evelynn, and Jade and her cronies Asian or black. You Evelyn would see her as one your “daugthers” and would be hysterical to see one of your own being tormented, by those you couldnt relate to.

I take it our marriage is now off.
When X factor was on there were some people saying that it was racist because certain acts were being voted off and Leona would not win.
In that occasion I really thought that it was not racist and I still believe that.
This is a different matter – Shilpa is being picked on for even breathing and its bad enough when one person does it but when it is a pack it is absolutely bullying and absolutely racist. Take your blinkers off and see. Us the public are really seeing all of it and the fact that Ian has come into the diary and said what he said proves that it must be horrid living in that house.
Some people say she should leave but why. Why should bullies and racists win. I hope she sticks it out and I hope after this experience she will become so icon because she truly deserves it. India people must be very proud of her, I am proud of her for just for being a strong, sweet, dignified woman who will win in the end.

BB producers did state that Black and Asian people never win and have gone out to prove that it is not possible in the last few years.
Shilpa has a huge fan base, so she is different to the average darkie on BB.
I think if she was an unknown she would not have had the support and people would have sided with the white girls as evelyn has done.
People shouldnt be fooled by this tactic and spend all their money voting to get her to win. when I was in BB house I witnessed and saw worse racism, but it wasnt the agenda to highlight it at that time , so it wasnt broadcast.
After the Nikki fiasco people have been reluctant to vote, creating this tension will make people vote people out or in their droves.
Putting more money back into the BB community chest. the best thing people can do is not vote for anyone either way and discuss what the purposes of BB is , when all these celebs come ou.

Seriously, there are riots in the streets in India. This is beyond a joke.
Endemol if there ever is a big brother again don’t chose the winner yourself and then do everything you can to protect them and edit them so they win. It really is all about money and nothing else. It doesnt matter about people or their lives or their reputation. Please everyone smell the coffee.
