Celebrity Big Brother: Shilpa Shetty To Win

Shilpa Shetty - Celebrity Big BrotherHere at Unreality TV we are backing Shilpa Shetty to win Celebrity Big Brother 2007.

Shilpa deserves the winner’s title and much more in compensation for the horrendous treatment that she has received at the hands of a number of fellow housemates.

Shilpa Shetty has managed to maintain her dignity whilst being subjected to what many have branded racist bullying. OFCOM have reportedly received upwards of 8000 complaints about the racist behaviour of Danielle Lloyd, Jo O’Meara and Jade Goody towards the Bollywood actress.

The trio have mocked Shilpa’s accent, objected to her preparing their food as Danielle pointed out that she didn’t know where Shilpa’s hands had been and viewers were outraged as Shetty was mocked for bleaching her facial hair by the three wicked withces of the west, Lloyd said: “She wants to be white.”

Shilpa has received messages of support form all corners. Here at Unreality TV we have been inundated with comments and emails from Shilpa’s supporters and admirers, you can read a handful of them here.

TV star Meera Syal has spoken out today in support of Shilpa saying:

“What this treatment of Shilpa has done is remind a lot of Asian people in Britain of the type of uncomfortable treatment they’ve received themselves over the years.

“This is bullying and we mustn’t forget the impressionable people who watch this show.”

She continued: “I have great admiration for the way Shilpa’s handled herself. But Channel 4 have been obviously rubbing their hands at the audience figures because everybody is talking about it now.”

She added that producers needed to be “forthright in their condemnation” of Shetty’s treatment.

At Unreality TV, we think that as a way of apologising for our fellow country women’s appalling behaviour and also as a sign of our admiration for Shilpa Shetty in how she has handled herself through the whole debacle, the Great British Public should get their voting fingers ready, and make sure that when the chance arises that they vote for Shilpa Shetty to win in their millions. It is the only sure way to show that as a nation we don’t support racism, we stand up against bullying and we stand up for what is right.

  1. BB & CBB fan Says:

The producers and Channel4 are trying to pacify the viewer’s strong views with propaganda and hype in a bid to boost viewing figures. They do this by brining on a black psychologist (CBB Big Brain) to state (with all her qualifications) that Shilpa is not a victim and that she can give as good as she gets. You may infer from this that it is ok to be racist or bully someone if they can stand up for themselves. Racism is a crime in this country, a piece of legislation that the makers seem to forget

By not imposing serious sanctions against the perpetrators their are condoning such behaviour.

  2. shobz Says:

I agree with you. I am quite appalled by how she is being treated on CBB. Its interesting to note that some people were offended by my post on Shilpa Shetty at the CBB house. They actually believe that she brought it on herself. Its sad to see people in a civilized country behaving like uncouth human beings with no regard for others. Channel 4 should deal with this as soon as possible before this is a big fallout.

  3. BIGNIKKIFAN Says:

BB should be ashamed of themself. This has got so out of hand it can not be sorted now. They should have stepped in over the weekend after the first incident, then they may have saved face but now they are still keen on showing Jade as positive as possible. Even Dermot and Russell have been gagged, it is obvious. The public are not stupid, give us some credit.

WE CANNOT STAND MISS GOODY ANY MORE - DO YOU GET IT.

  4. claire Says:

Racism is a biased term intentionally weighted in favour of the immigrants, jewish in this case, who invented the concept. People who hate dogs don’t hate dogs because they are dogs they hate dogs because they smell, bark all day or shit on the pavement. The term racism puts the blame on the victim. If I went to live in an igloo and offended all the eskimos would that be *their* problem? I don’t think so.

Indians like fixing their polls and they are using parliament to force people to like Shilpa in what is essentially a popularity contest.

  5. Dawn Blake luvs leo s Says:

A silly question that has been asked:

Cant Shilpa leave if she doesnt like it. Three other people this series have left and they were all white men.

As nutty as Shabbaz was he walked out,. The public are behind Shilpa with the bullying, however when i was in the BB house loads of the public sympathesised with my bully’s even feeling sorry for them.

I have been fighting Big Brother and the Press alone, without any help or financial suppport.

Even though I am asthmatic, suffer from eczema and numerous allergies I didn’t have any clothes in BB, any toiletries, my medication was given to me when the producers felt like it and to top it all I wasnt even given the public disgnity to walk out they ejected me with a crap story which everyone believed. The housemates shared their clothes and toiletries with each other and completely left me out( I was to big for the girls clothes anyway).

The white housemates and Lisa spent their time grooming each other and rubbing the fact I do have negro hair , black skin , eczema and was taller and bigger than them in my face. I would never dream over doing that to anyone, even if I really hated them.

I put up with the white housemates dressing up in their best clothes with hair done, make-up done and holding a fashion Show to rubbing it in my face. All pretending to be mocked dissapointed when I refused cos I was wearing the same clothes I had brought in to wear to bed and a Bandana on my head cos I couldnt even wash or groom my hair in BB cos all my toiletries were prohibited. That was unbearable, but did the other females have sympathy no,they laugh and say Dawn stinks and the press agreed with them. They were contacting my rather dim friends and asking them why doesnt Dawn wash does she stink normally. My friends were too dim and ordinary too realise I was wearing generally the same clothes
I have had newspapers asking me to comment on Shilpa,MY comment is no comment cos she can walk like Leo, Donny and Ken. And thanks to me the doors are now easier to open.

If you spend your money voting for Shilpa you will only swell the coffers of Big Brother. That so many people complained about in BB& after they brought MS Princess Big Head Back.

Racism does exist in society and it does exist in BB , but the reaction to Shilpa is weird as there was a massive underreaction to Shabbaz who was truly the victim of bullying and should have not been allowed in the programme in the first place.

If People took offence at shabbaz as they have done with Shilpa, no bullying would have occurred as it would have been resolved by now.

Shilpa if she doesnt like it, she knows were the door is and I can bet they wont lock it for you.

Genuine Bullying people dont see, and staged rubbish everyone overreacts at.

Claire you are wrong, even though I am not self loathing. I would rather be white than black any day.

While I may be able to call people racist if they are invidious, that is all I am able to do.

In the power and wealth stakes I am very, very lowly and will always be so, no matter how many degrees and how much expereinece I have. I am not a singer, model or athlete and do not want to settle for being a jolly cleaner or cook, to fulfil a racial stereotype.

I guess you are white Claire and I would gladly change places with you any day, so you can see its no a luxury being black so you can simply go around calling white people racist. It gets very boring after the first 40 years of your life.

However Shilpa has been treated badly , but so was I , so was Shabbaz, so was Jodie Marsh, So was Lesley, so was Kitten the list goes on. The fact that the viewers didnt see most of the behind the scenes stuff doesnt mean it didnt occur. Having a big fan base before you enter Big Brother is one way to get support and better treatment, but it is hypocrtical and weakens any argument of racism.

50, 000 people can complain on her behalf to OFCOM if they want to, but unless she complains about her treatment herself they are all wasting their time.

PS the producers do not tell you that when you are in BB that they will lie on their press releases on the Big Brother website.

  6. Dawn Blake luvs leo s Says:

PS the Official BB chartered Psychologist is Stephen Flett and he is the person who is charge of the well-being of the housemates, what you see on screen is irrelevant. the psychologist with her qualifications is eye candy as she has nothing to do with housemates she comments on what she is shown by producers and sees what you lot see.

Stephen Flett is a member of the British Psychological Society and he is very very white. I thought you would like to know that for the record.

  7. BIGNIKKIFAN Says:

Yes I believe that some other contestant have had a hard time, but to be honest they were very very iritating and Lesley was absolutely vile to Sam.

Shilpa has not said one bitchy comment about anyone, has tried to get along and the fact that four of them are picking on her for even breathing makes it outright bullying in the highest order. She is sweet and dignified and that is why everyone has taken such a stand this time. She absolutely does not deserve this at all.

  8. a girl like me Says:

Didn’t she call them white trash though?
    Isn’t that racist?

  9. BIGNIKKIFAN Says:

Even if this isn’t a race war it is no doubt a bullying war, which in my mind is equally bad. How many children try to kill themselves over bullying. It is outstanding that anyone can justify the treatment of Shilpa (bullying/racism) call it what you want. I just want BB to do something about it but they dont and so people are going to get even more angry.

There are over 18,000 signatures on the petition now and the Indian government is not making comment. USA and the rest of the world are taking about it.

Jade Baddie and her vile ‘friends’ have no where to hide when they come out. If anything serious happens to them BB will be responsible because they should have evicted Jade & Co on the weekend for her comments before it got out of hand. Bullying should not be tolerated anywhere and if children see this and they are equally being bullied what chance to they have of a resolution.

  10. Celebrity Big Brother: Shilpa Shetty Obtains World Wide Support! » Unreality TV Says:

[...] I predict that Shilpa Shetty will no doubt have the last laugh in this whole saga. We are backing her to win, but even if she doesn’t, her fame has now spread worldwide. She will be known for her maturity and her dignity, while the other three would be well advised to creep away and hide for a few months until people forget how hateful they really were. We’re having a little trouble with our comments form at the moment. If you’d like to comment about this post, please head over to the forum and let us know what you think! [...]
