The wife of Celebrity Big Brother housemate Tommy Sheridan warned him to anglify his accent before he entered the BB house so that he could be understood by the American housemates.

Gail Sheridan said that she had realised that people may not have a clue what he was saying so she told him to tone it down and speak a bit more slowly.

The Sun reports Gail as saying: “That first night he went in, he had that big voice. I said to my sister, ‘Oh, my God, listen to that’. He is really loud.

“We told him he would need to anglify his voice, not just for LaToya, wee Verne and Coolio but the rest too.

“I think that’s part of why he has been loud because he’s doing that thing you do on holiday, shouting and pronouncing words slowly to make himself understood.”
